Zoning McDATA Switches - Tutorial Note: Zoning provides a means within the director to associate a given set of nodes and exclude other nodes from that association. This allows an administrator to allocate certain disks to one server and prevent the other servers from seeing those disks. Any node can belong to any zone, or even multiple zones. Zones are grouped as zone sets. To create a zone set 1. From the Fabric view click on "Configure" -> "Zone Sets" 2. Click on "Actions" -> New to create a new zone set 3. Enter a name in blank area for Zone Set Name (no spaces) 4. Click "Actions" -> New to create a new zone under the set 5. Enter a name in blank area for Zone Name (no spaces) 6. Add members to the Zone by dragging and dropping 7. Click "Save Zone" to save zone. 8. Add zones to the zone set by dragging and dropping 9. Click "Save Zone Set" to save zone set. 10. Highlight saved zone set. 11. Click "Actions" ->Activate to activate new Zone Set To modify a zone set 1. From the Fabric view click on "Configure" -> "Zone Sets" 2. Highlight target Zone set 3. Click on "Actions" -> Modify to change a current zone set 4. Make zoning changes to set 5. Highlight saved zone set. 6. Click "Actions" ->Activate to activate changed Zone Set To modify a zone 1. To create a zone set

Click "Actions" ->Activate to activate new Zone Set

To modify a zone set
