Analyze the Learner

My kindergarten class consists of 17 students ranging from 5-6 years old. There are 10 girls and 7 boys— 3 of which have learning disabilities.60% are White, 30% are African American, and 10% are Latino.

Main Objective

In one month, my students will be able to describe each zoo animal taught and its habitat and region. He/she will learn facts from watching videos and movies with class discussions concerning the animals, habitats, and regions. He/she will list 3 facts about each zoo animal with 90% accuracy.

Day by Day

My students will learn cool, new facts about 3 zoo animals each week. Monday and Tuesday will be one animal, Wednesday and Thursday will be another, and Friday will end the week learning another new animal. The students will be learning about their regions and habitats as well.

Use of Technology

I will be showing many videos and a couple of movies in order to show my students how zoo animals act in their daily lives. I will also use the projector to show them pictures of the animals.
