Product DescriptionThe OMEGAMON z/OS Management Console is a new no-charge availability monitoring product that includes a GUI for z/OS management and is designed to help the new generation of IT workers. It is designed to help automate, eliminate, and simplify many z/OS management tasks.The OMEGAMON z/OS Management Console helps deliver real-time, health check information provided by the IBM Health Checker for z/OS, and configuration status information for z/OS systems and sysplex resources. The OMEGAMON z/OS Management Console is designed with built-in automation and expert advice capabilities that can offer detailed contextual information on alerts and corrective actions.

Previous Version of CNP
Versions of all the required OMEGAMON products are delivered in the OMEGAMON z/OS Management Console product package. However, if you already have a supported version of an OMEGAMON product installed in your enterprise, you can use the currently installed product. The following levels of platform components are required to install and use the OMEGAMON z/OS Management Console:
OMEGAMON Platform version 360 or higher, which includes the following components:
o IBM Tivoli Management Server, formerly Candle Management Server version 360
o TEP for Distributed Systems, formerly CandleNet Portal version 196 with fix pack 3. Later levels and fixes can be downloaded from:

On this Web site, CandleNet Portal is referred to by the new name, IBM Tivoli Management Portal for Distributed Systems. For a mapping of previous Candle names and new IBM names, refer to

Note. You must install fix pack 1 or higher to run the IBM Tivoli Management Portal for Distributed Systems browser client with a version of Java other than Sun Java 1.3.1_12, 13 or 14 or Java1.4.2_06, 07. zSeries Application Assist Processor (zAAP) Support The z/Series Application Assist Processor (zAAP), first introduced on
pTerodactyl (z890) processors, provides a cost-effective approach to running Java workloads on dedicated CPs.
Cumulative CPU by Address Space OMEGAMON XE on z/OS V3.1.0 will now provide cumulative CPU
seconds and percents for address spaces. The values will be for the life of the address space
Calculate System CPU usage at end of RMF interval Better synchronization with RMF data
4 Hour Rolling Average CPU Variable software licensing charges are based on the highest 4 hour
rolling average MSU logged per month. With this enhancement we will determine that value and include it in the System CPU Utilization table and workspace.

executable code, a z/OS address space is spending its time.
Common Storage Area Usage by Address Space Common Storage Area reporting at the address space level includes
common storage area elements in use by active address spaces, orphaned elements, and usage history (Trend Details) by address space.
