WELCOME
No matter what your present status in the Catholic Church,
No matter what your current family or marital situation,
No matter what your past or present religious affiliation,
No matter what your personal history, background,
race or other,
No matter what your own self-image or esteem,
You are Invited, Welcomed, Accepted,
Loved and Respected,
Here at Our Lady of La Salette and
Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
Monthly Prayer Intentions…
During the month of January let us pray for all priests
and religious who minister to us throughout the year.
Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift
of our priests and religious. Through them, we experi-
ence your presence in the sacraments. Help them
to be strong in their vocation. Grant them the wis-
dom, understanding and strength they need to fol-
low in the footsteps of Jesus. Help them to become
instruments of your divine grace. We ask this through
Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. Amen
Offertory Envelopes for 2020...
There are still a number of personalized offertory
envelopes in the church basement. If you have not
yet had a chance to pick up your envelopes,
please do so as soon as possible. Also, if there is no
box with your name imprinted, please take one of
the blank boxes and just put your name and ad-
dress on the first few envelopes so we can properly
track your contributions.
Welcome to our Parish Family
We have been blessed with two additions to our Faith
Community. Congratulations to Adam and Ellen Butera
whose son, John Henry, was baptized on December 22 at
Our Lady of LaSalette Church. John Henry will be guided
by them and their godparents, Melissa and Robert Siwko
as he develops not only in his life but also in his faith in Our
Lord, Jesus Christ.
Congratulations also to John and Maria McDonough, the
parents of Arya Grace McDonough, who was baptized
on December 29 at Our Lady of LaSalette Church. May
God shed his light and grace on her as she grows in her
Christian faith.
SUNDAY, January 5, 2020 The Epiphany of The Lord
Prayer for Vocations...
Father, increase our family’s love for one another. May we
honor each other in times of happiness or hardship, bearing
with one another in love, just as You love us. In a special
way, help us strive for holiness in our current states of life.
Should You call some of us to the priesthood or religious life,
help us to respond with courage and joy. Together, we
make heaven our goal, and pledge, with Your grace, to
help each other on life’s journey to You. Through the inter-
cession of the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
Amen
Father Ben’s trip to India...
Father Ben will be away from January 12
th
to February 7
th
,
2020. as he travels to India to visit his family. During his ab-
sence there will not be any daily masses. Please keep him
in your prayers while he is away. As in the words of St. Co-
lumba we pray,“ Alone with none but you, my God, I jour-
ney on my way. What need I fear, when you are near, O
King of night and day? More safe am I within your hand
than if a host did round me stand. Be a bright flame before
me, a smooth path beneath me, a kindly shepherd behind
me, today, tonight and forever. Amen”.

mittee on Monday, Jan. 6 at 10 am in the church

Eucharistic Adoration...
Adoration is a sign of devotion and worship to Jesus Christ,
Our Lord. During Eucharistic Adoration, we “watch and
wait “, we remain silent in His Presences and open our-
selves to His Graces which flow from the Eucharist. Adora-
tion is held every Wednesday from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm at
Our Lady of LaSalette Church. Volunteers are needed for
many time slots to fulfill this devotion. If you are interested
in becoming an adorer, please call Maryann Duncan at
860-774-4395.
Faith Sparks...
This month’s column in the 4 County Catholic newspaper
is about New Year’s Resolutions. Director of the Office of
Faith Events, Andre Hoisl writes. “What if we all took a
new approach to a New Year’s resolution this year?
What if we all resolve to get to know God better this
year?” To read this article and find great tips on reac-
quainting yourself with God along with 3 helpful apps to
help you keep this resolution, visit:

Giving Tree...
The gifts received from our Parish were very much appre-
ciated and brighten the holidays of so many! Thank you
again to all who participated in bringing joy to several
families at Christmas time. We extend a sincere thank you
to Marietta Jones for making our tree tags, and to the
Buisson family for the beautifully knitted hats. We hope
everyone had a Blessed Christmas and will enjoy a
healthy and prosperous New Year!
Tax time...
It’s getting to be that time of year as we gather our infor-
mation for submitting our tax forms. If you would like a
yearly contribution statement from the church for your
records please let us know by either calling the rectory or
placing a reminder in the collection basket. We will make
every effort to get it to you as soon as possible.
New Calendars...
The new 2020 calendars are located at the entrances of
the church and are available for your enjoyment. The
beautifully illustrated calendar called “I AM…” has been
donated to our Parish from Gagnon and Costello Funeral
Home in Danielson, CT. We wish to thank them for their
generosity.
