Rural Development: Responsible dairy farming – Milk district model

• Sourcing 52% of our global fresh

milk supply directly from 422,700

farmers in 30 countries

• 126,000 farmers in the fresh milk

sourcing districts received training /

technical assistance in 2011

• Provided USD 23 Mio. financial

assistance to 38,000 farmers in the

fresh milk sourcing districts for pre-

financing, advance payments,

investment loans to purchase

cows, machinery and other

infrastructure.

Rural Development:Responsible coffee farming: The Nescafé Plan

• Working with 170,000 farmers and

sourcing 11% of our global green

coffee supply

• Provided technical assistance and

training to more than 16,000 coffee

farmers

• Investing CHF 350 million in support

of The Nescafé Plan

• By 2015, we aim to source

180,000MT through farmer connect

and be 100% 4C compliant(The Code of Conduct of The Common Code for

the Coffee Community )
