Easter This and That….. A blessed and joy-filled Feast of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ! Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me even if he dies will live!” (John 11:25). Today marks the height of the benefits and justification of the Lord’s sacrifice. Let’s remember as Easter joy comes over us that it is our response to the resurrection to live fully Christ’s teachings. We commit ourselves today to regular encounters with Jesus in the sacraments and to live our baptismal call to holiness and fidelity. A word of thanks to all who made our Lenten liturgies and Holy Week so prayerful. The decorating committee, musicians, clergy and lay ministers who all gave so much often preparation that is unseen. We ask the Lord to bless all of you. You may have noticed that the floors at St. Veronica Chapel and in Msgr. Halloran hall have all been stripped and professionally polished to make it look new. The carpets at St. Thomas More were also professionally cleaned recently to prepare for the holy season-thank you Steve Iovino for your good care of our houses of worship. The leaky cupola and ceiling at the entrance to St. Veronica Chapel was also finally repaired as well as the deteriorated outdoor fence at the carriage house building. We are in the final stages of preparing our presentation for the expansion of the St. Veronica parking lot, as the extensive work by the engineers is now complete. The design phase of the renewal of the St. Thomas More parish hall is also virtually complete. Thank you for your continuous payment of pledges from the Capital Campaign. Please keep our First Communion and Confirmation candidates as they enter the final preparations for their receiving Christ and the Holy Spirit. Fr. Kiran will be returning for one month to India to renew his visa so keep him and his family in your prayers. Fr. Henry gratefully continues to get better and better and we are blessed he has been able to pray with us at times in Mass. Please extend our best wished to all your loved ones as our fifty days long celebration of Easter has begun!
Fr. Taillon
Pray the Rosary The rosary is prayed each weekday after the 9:00AM Mass at St Thomas More and for the special intention of peace in the world and on Saturday mornings at 8:30AM before Mass.
Men’s Bible Study
Our parish has a very active group of men, who for more than 16 years, have met each Saturday at 7:30AM in a "round table" format to discuss the Sunday scripture readings. It is very informal and attended by some scholarly and not-so-scholarly folks. It’s rewarding and even some fun. Bring your coffee and come on over to St. Thomas More parish hall!
Prayer Chain Ministry If you know someone who would like extra needed prayers , please call Jean at 783-3403 and express your request. Volunteers are needed for this important ministry.
