~ Anodyne Coffee Fundraiser ~
The PTO is sponsoring this year’s Anodyne Coffee
Fundraiser. Proceeds raised will go to support Upper
Elementary’s Camp Edwards trip, as well as other PTO
endeavors including the Back-to-School Picnic, classroom
supplies, buses for field trips, etc.
Thank you for supporting this great opportunity for our
students by purchasing delicious coffee, tea, hot chocolate
and gift certificates.

VOLLEYBALL and BASKETBALL registration is now
open until Oct. 19th. Please turn in the activity permit and
concussion form (attached; see last page for link) along
with a fee of $25.
Practices generally start the 1st week of November,
depending on the coach. Games will start in December and
run through February.

Kudos!
Congratulations to all of our students for having
high attendance for the month of September, the
students reached over 95% attendance. Thanks to
all the staff, for making our school engaging for our
students. Our school was also recognized for not
having any attendance errors on Infinite Campus,
thanks to Karen Delker for keeping accurate
records.
Also, congratulation goes out to our staff and
parents who participated in the Run Back to School
event. Our school won an award for high
participation, we had 72 participants. Thanks to
Lisa McLure for coordinating this event, we won
$500 for playground equipment.

Pet Drive
Room 31 is having a collection for animals at the
Human Society, now through October 26th. Please
bring in any of the following much needed items:
Baby wipes (unscented)
Cat toys
Q-tips
Dog toys
Feather dusters
Dog treats
Wheels for small animals
Lint rollers
Water bottles
Cotton balls
Millet spray (for birds)
Hand sanitizer
Cat treats
Empty cardboard rolls (from toilet paper/paper towels)

Cross Country
Volunteers Needed!
Lorinda Flores has requested VOLUNTEERS
for the Cross Country meet that Fernwood is
hosting on Wednesday, October 21st starting at
4:30 pm @ Grant Park in South Milwaukee.
We need volunteers along the course to help
keep kids on the trail and cheer them on!

Beyond the Board Room
Beyond the Board Room is a new avenue for two-way communication between elected school board officials
and their constituencies. The initiative is designed to keep constituents informed and to create a medium for
constituent input.
The next Beyond the Board Room opportunity will be a community meeting hosted by President Michael
Bonds on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Sherman Arts School.
