The Mid-Senior Amateur Championship is for players ages 60-64. Keith Decker is attempting tobecome the first two-time winner of the event. Four of the five past champions of the VSGA Mid-Senior Amateur have advanced into the Super SeniorAmateur's 65+ division: David Partridge, Dave Pulk, Leon Roday and George Kapetanakis. Others to watch in the 65+ bracket include past VSGA Super Senior Stroke play winner Jack Allara, thisyear's 65+ Super Senior Four-Ball winners (Bill Apple and John Steele), two-time VSGA Super SeniorFour-Ball champion Jim Woodson, and two-time VSGA Super Senior Golfer of the Year Tim Vigotsky. There will not be a three-peat in the 70+ division, as John Cuomo, winner of the last two 70+ SuperSenior Amateurs, is not competing. The two finalists in the 2017 65+ division (Mike McDonald andMike Ancel) are competing, along with 2018 70+ winner Mike Brown. There's a good chance George Owens will have to oust his Super Senior Four-Ball partner JohnCasstevens if he wants to win a third straight title. Casstevens was a finalist in the 65+ division in 2010,falling to Harry Lea in the final match.

6th VSGA Mid-Senior Amateur/27th VSGA Super Senior Amateur field notes

He was also part of thewinning side at this year's SuperSenior Four-Ball (75+), pairing withJohn Casstevens to win the title atPrincess Anne Country Club.
