Sports Corner Governors Sports Bursary
Every year, the Governors use part of the Sports Premium Funding to support our talented children in their chosen sport. If your child is at county/national level in a
sport and you feel that they would benefit from a financial bursary to help them
develop further, please write to Mrs Taylor to request that your child is considered. Tell
us about your child's sport and how you would use any funding by 11 November.

Year 3 had an exciting afternoon following maps around the village! We looked for
physical (natural) and human (man-made) features along our route. We had to use our
resilience while we were walking because we realised that following a map was quite tricky! Mr Scott (These are the maps that children were inspired to draw at home!)
Just the Job Early Years classes have been investigating different jobs this week. We have had visits
from doctors, firefighters, police officers, yoga teachers and civil engineers, who have told us how they help us in our community.
We have also had fun dressing up and discussing our future careers! Mrs Beasley
We were so pleased that the children responded so calmly and sensibly to our recent fire drill,
with all children and staff evacuated in 3 minutes 30 seconds. Amazing! Mrs Taylor
Safeguarding Reminder- To keep all children safe, please do not park in the Plaza
before or after school
Bolnore families are invited to a Halloween
Party at Cuckfield Golf Course on Friday 1
November.
Pop to the Shops The children from Early Years went on their first school trip this week, we have
talked about making healthy choices and this was developed throughout the trip
when selecting food for their smoothies. The children did very well at listening to adults and there has been a buzz in the classroom following on from the trip.
Well done and thank you to our parent helpers. Miss Hespin
Countdown Challenge Four children from Year 6 represented
Bolnore at the locality Countdown Competition against seven schools. They
enjoyed the number and letters round and were stretched by the challenges.
Number Fun Year 5 had great fun tackling Roman
Numerals this week. The children blew me away with their understanding of this
topic from Year 4 and then challenged themselves with numbers into the
thousands! Can you figure out any of the numbers in these pictures? Mrs Munday
Education is about far more than learning English and Maths skills. At Bolnore, we try to promote the other skills that will help children become independent, and this can range from teaching Early Years children to put on their own coats, to managing nights away from home.
Just this week, Year 4 survived their Survival Expert Day! They spent the morning out in the woods cracking First Aid code-breakers, orienteering, creating Endurance replicas and building
waterproof dens! They then linked all of these survival skills to our five Core Values and discussed how they can use them more in everyday life.
We watched Bear Grylls and he shared some survival tips. I
want to be on his show! Jack, Year 4
