Year 2 had a scorching start to the week when they burnt their Tudor houses in the playground. This was to re-enact the events of the Great Fire of London as they happened in 1666. When asked, the children were equally disappointed at their beautiful houses getting burnt and amazed at how quickly the fire spread. It is this type of close up encounter that makes learning so special and memorable.
This week, the teachers have had a staff meeting about making mistakes and getting stuck. This will be theme throughout this half term - the ParentMail explains this more fully. Watch out for children having ‘pit stops’ and talking about famous failures.
