Whole School Maths Problem Solving Afternoon Thursday 25: KS2 Cross Country House Competition Friday 26: Whole School Singing Workshop Year 2 had a scorching start to the week when they burnt their Tudor houses in the playground. This was to re-enact the events of the Great Fire of London as they happened in 1666. When asked, the children were equally disappointed at their beautiful houses getting burnt and amazed at how quickly the fire spread. It is this type of close up encounter that makes learning so special and memorable. This week, the teachers have had a staff meeting about making mistakes and getting stuck. This will be theme throughout this half term - the ParentMail explains this more fully. Watch out for children having ‘pit stops’ and talking about famous failures. Year 5 Year 5 Year 5 Year 5 have been building a Resilience Wall in their class! Have you seen the wonderful weather mobiles made by Year 1 Year 1 Year 1 Year 1? Year 4 Year 4 Year 4 Year 4 have used their research and design skills to make their own Viking shields. We are compiling a leaflet of top-tips for promoting resilience at home and need your help. If you have a strategy, mantra or activity which has helped your child become more resilient, please email it to the Office with the heading ‘Resilience Tips’ and it may make it into the leaflet! He showed great resilience over the holidays, conquering his fear of extremely large kickers and competing in an under 16 competition and coming 13 th ! We are so proud of you!
