Prayer to St. Nicholas as Patron

Saint God of joy and cheer,

we thank you for your servant, the good bishop Nicholas.

In loving the poor, he showed us your kindness;

in caring for your children, he revealed your love.

Make us thoughtful without need of reward

so that we, too, may be good followers of Jesus.

Saint Nicholas—December 6 St. Nicholas followed the words of our Lord, to "lay up treasure for yourself in Heaven," by praying every day, by fasting, and by performing good deeds. God was so pleased that he worked many miracles through Nicholas. People began to call him a wonderworker" (a person who works wonders or performs miracles). They were so inspired by his life of service to others that many of them, too, began to lead holy lives, filled with good deeds. (www.stnicholascenter.org)

All are invited to join our Catechism classes who have been working so hard and our Youth to a Christmas concert, ornament workshop and lunch following the 10 am Divine Liturgy. This Advent Season The Welcome Home is collecting donations of travel sized toiletries and adult socks that can be shared at Christmas with our neighbours. His intention for evangelisation is: “That families, especially those who suffer, may find in the birth of Jesus a sign of certain hope”.

The Polson School would like to thank all the parishioners for recycling their plastic bags. With your help the school was able to purchase a new bench and flower box. The program is still running so you can drop off your used plastic bags in the bin that is located in the entrance of the Church! Many thanks from your friends at Polson School!!
