Ald.Fleming drew attention to the '•No Parking'• signs which have recently been ins talled in Erskineville Road and suggested that the Police be requested to have the signs . placed upon the poles in the street so as to avoid con~estion.
Ald.W .P.Newnham asked when the present contract with the Electric Light & Power Su ply Corpn.Ltd.for the supply of electricity expired,and suggested that the mC~.tter be considered by the Lighting Committee at its next meeting, which the Mayor promised to HaK3. Resolved, "That the Council do now resolve itself into a Coruni ttee of the ,/hole .. to consider matteFs relative to the collection of Rolls."
Upon resuming in Council it was reported that while in Co~ttee of the ,/hole the matter of a request from the Collectors of the Rolls for an additional payment on their contracts had been considered and your Committee now recommends that they be informed that Council regrets,owing to legal advice in the matter,that it is unable to make any additional payments in excess of the Contracts. Your Committee also recomr1ends that Mr.J.Broughton,who was unable to complete his Contract ovdng to illness,be paid the sum of £5/5/- forthwith and the sum of £4/10/- efter the Revision Court has duly certified to the rolls,in full and complete payment for all work performed by him in connection with his contract.
Resolved, "That the report of the Committee of the /hole Council be ''Received" and adopted,and its recommendations be carried into effect".
