A special thank you to Bishop LeVoir and all of the clergy, religious, sodalities, altar servers, musicians, families, and friends who joined our Michaelmas Vespers and Eucharistic Procession!

Michael means “Who Is Like God?” And, indeed, none but our Lord Himself is more deserving of the reverence, ceremony, and devotion we offered in processing the Holy Eucharist

through the streets of Stillwater.

Through this devotion, may we be inspired by the Holy Spirit to live our lives in a way that makes manifest the grandeur, beauty, and peace of God—that the King of Peace may be known and loved throughout the whole world. May Saint Michael and Our Lady continue to protect and intercede for

our families, our parishes, and our holy catholic Church.

In Christ, Father Barnes

Please join us at St. Mary’s Church on the First Saturday of each month after 7:30 a.m. Mass as we celebrate the Rite of the Blessing of the Child in the Womb. Come to the front near the statue of Our Lady after Mass. Our clergy will also bless Rosaries, medals, and other religious objects at this time.

We will be holding a flu shot clinic for ages 6+ at St. Mary’s Great Hall on Thursday, October 7 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. Forms will be available in the atrium after Masses the week prior. Donuts and muffins will be provided. A high dose flu shot will be available for those who qualify. Please contact Mrs. Maria Gibbons, parish nurse, with any questions at [email protected].

Our next Cor Jesu is Sunday, October 10 at St. Mary's Church from 7:15-8:15 p.m. Cor Jesu means “heart of Jesus,” and these nights are a time for communal prayer through Eucharistic Adoration, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and songs of praise. Cor Jesu takes place on the 2nd Sunday of each month during the academic year and is open to all parishioners. We hope to see you there!

All who have been touched by the loss of a baby during pregnancy, birth, or early in infancy (whether recently or far in the past) are welcome to participate in the Tiny Treasures Wave of Light Remembrance Retreat at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, October 15 at the Church of St. Michael. Join bereaved parents, grandparents, and other loved ones from around the world by lighting a candle in memory of your baby and all babies who have passed away. Father Barnes will begin the retreat in the sanctuary with Evening Prayer. All are welcome to attend this free event. To ensure we have enough candles for everyone, pre-registration is required. More information and the RSVP form are available online at teamtinytreasures.weebly.com. Please contact Mrs. Jackie Valerius at [email protected] or 651-379-1266 for more information. Thank you to the Respect Life Committee of St. Michael & St. Mary for sponsoring this event!

What is a “prepared environment”? The prepared environment is a Montessori concept that the environment can be designed to facilitate independent learning by the child. In a prepared environment, children work with materials of their own choice

and at their own pace. They experience a combination of freedom and self-discipline in a place especially prepared to meet their developmental and spiritual needs. These photos were taken in an Atrium where the children are working on materials helping them bridge from Level II to Level III work.

Did You Know? -Your baby is already 10,000 times bigger than at conception. -He has developed the foundations of his brain, spinal cord, and nervous system by the 20th day. -Your baby’s heart began to beat on the 21st day. Prayer Cards for Spiritually Adopted unborn babies remain available in the atrium.
