  • The IC3 Awards were created by the IC3 Movement to recognize outstanding work in the field ofcareer and college counseling. With the intention to inspire and encourage, not to compare orcompete, IC3 is proud to celebrate counseling champions aligned with the mission of career andcollege counseling in every school.

    The first IC3 Awards ceremony took place at the 2nd Annual IC3 Conference in 2017. Aimed atfelicitating schools, counselors and universities that stand out for their contributions to the field ofcareer and college counseling, the IC3 Awards have become a highly anticipated fixture at theAnnual IC3 Conference every year. Categories in the 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 ceremonies includedEmerging Counselor Award, Counselor of the Year, Award for Counseling-Based Approach toStudent Recruitment/Admissions, and the Molly Abraham Lifetime Achievement Award. Each year,awardees and nominees have been recognized and celebrated at the IC3 Awards ceremony.

    Expanded to include more award categories in 2021, the Annual IC3 Awards continue to honor

    exceptional contributions to the field of career and college counseling across high schools and

    counselors, universities and university representatives, and organizations. Awardees are selected by

    a jury, and announced annually.

    announced at the Annual IC3 Festival

    in December 2021, and some regional

    awards may be presented at the

    Annual IC3 Conference in August 2021.

Exemplifying the spirit ofvolunteerism, this individual has served on IC3volunteer committees for 3 years or more, and hasbeen instrumental in advancing the success,growth, and impact of IC3’s mission throughdedicated committee volunteer work.

    High School SustainableDevelopment Award

  • At the forefront of practicing and encouraging fullintegrity in terms of predicted grades anddocumentation, ethical application processes andadmissions, and helping students to find their bestfit, this individual has shown leadership throughexemplary promotion of the criticality of ethicalcounseling practices.This award honors thecontributions of Bridget Herrera, past winner of theMolly Abraham Lifetime Achievement Award.Bridget has worked for over 25 years as a collegecounselor in schools in Bangladesh and across LatinAmerica. Bridget has previously served as Presidentof International ACAC, Chair of NACAC's Inclusionand Access Committee, TOEFL Board Member,member of the Common Application's AdvisoryOutreach Group, Counselor Liaison for the CIS LatinAmerica Committee, and on a number of IC3committees. She is one of the founding membersof the Bangladesh College Counselor Network(BCCN).

    This individual supports, practices and encouragesfull integrity in a counseling-based approach tostudent recruitment/admissions, helping studentsfind the right fit. Evident through outreach andrecruitment, retention efforts, and student support.

    Eligibility: university representative

    Exemplifying excellence with a long-termcommitted approach to career and collegecounseling. Through implementation andinvestment of counseling resources and training,exceptional demonstration of creating a new (orrevamping an existing) counseling department tomake a significant and lasting impact on the way itsstudents are served, the school encourages studentexploration and engagement, as well as counselorcollaboration and continued professionaldevelopment.

    Eligibility: high school

    Conferred at the Annual IC3 Festival.**Excepting the IC3 Regional Awards for India, which will

    be conferred at the Annual IC3 Conference.

    IC3 AWARDSCATEGORIES

  • 1. The Annual IC3 Awards is managed by UnivAssist Inc. ("Organizer"). The Organizer reserves the right, without liability, in itssole discretion, to accept or refuse any sponsorship application.

    2. The laws of the state of New Jersey shall govern the validity and interpretation of these Terms and Conditions (these“Terms”) without regard to conflicts of law principles.

    3. Sponsorship Applicant (“Applicant” or “Sponsor”) will pay all fees, charges, and expenses for its application when due andon demand. If the Organizer seeks any legal recourse or remedy to collect any amount due from the Applicant, all chargesrelated to the collection of any unpaid amount (including Organizer’s legal fees) will be the responsibility of the Applicant.

    4. Applicant will be invoiced for payment, unless paid by credit card, upon the Organizer’s receipt of the application.Applications are not subject to cancellation by the Applicant. The invoice will reflect the full cost of the sponsorship, which isNON-REFUNDABLE and which will be due within 15 days of the application date or 60 days prior to the start of the sponsoredevent, whichever is earlier. Please be advised that neither expiration of payment due dates nor failure to pay the invoice willterminate the obligation to pay the sponsorship fee pledged to the Organizer irrespective of participation in the event orany other circumstances.

    5. If the Sponsor is planning on participating in the event, along with the names of each proposed participant, Sponsor mustsubmit the name of one person to be its representative. Such representative shall be authorized to enter into such servicecontracts as may be necessary, and for which the Sponsor shall be responsible. The Sponsor shall assume all risk andresponsibility for any person affiliated with the Sponsor participating in the event.

    6. All participants shall abide by all rules, regulations, policies, procedures and protocols whether imposed by the Organizeror legal authorities. If any person who is participating becomes ill, can no longer participate in a proper manner, or does notcomply with health or safety protocols, such person may be removed from the event without any liability to Organizer.

    7. It is the responsibility of Sponsor and each person participating in the event to keep up to date and review legalrequirements, regulatory guidelines, and the conference website frequently for current policies, which are subject tochange at any time up to and during the event. The Organizer reserves the right at any time, even during the event, in itssole discretion, to implement and enforce rules and legal requirements or third party polices, and all persons must adhere toall such rules.

    8. Organizer reserves the right, without liability, in its sole discretion, to make changes or postponements to the eventincluding format, daily schedule, dates, and technology used.

    9. If the Organizer determines in its sole discretion that for any reason it is not prudent or desirable to conduct the event dueto health or safety concerns or if the Organizer is unable to conduct the event for any reason, including Force Majeure(defined in Section 10 below), Applicant will not be entitled to any refund but, instead, to the extent not expended for theoriginally scheduled event, any or all amounts paid by Applicant shall be credited towards a rescheduled or future event.

    10. If any event is changed or rescheduled for any reason and notice is not feasible, Organizer will use reasonablecommercial efforts, to the extent not prevented or hindered by Force Majeure or health or safety concerns, to schedule analternative event. “Force Majeure” means any cause beyond the reasonable control of Organizer, including failure oftechnical facilities; technological problems, error, interruption or failure; Act of God; natural disaster; accident; fire; flood;inclement weather; labor dispute; riot or civil commotion; act of public enemy; war; military action; public health crisis;disease; pandemic; virus; epidemic; national security; governmental, court, regulatory or administrative act or order; law,regulation or rule; act or threat of terrorism; national day of mourning; strikes; civil unrest; airport or other transportationclosings or delays; travel warnings or advisories; emergency announcement or news bulletin; inability to obtain supplies;delays in transportation; or embargo.

    11. The Organizer will not be liable for the actions or omissions of independent suppliers or other third parties, includingInternet, Web services technology providers, and the Organizer makes no representation or warranty concerning the natureor quality of any services provided by third parties.

    12. Organizer reserves the right, without liability, in its sole discretion to deny participation to or to remove any person,including any sponsor, delegate, participant, or third party from the event.

    13. The Organizer will not provide any compensation, refund or credit, nor be liable for any fees, charges, or expenses paid or owed by Applicant to any third party, including for any accommodations, transportation, Internet service providers, or Web based meeting providers (e.g. Facetime, Zoom etc.).

  • 14. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Organizer will not be liable if any person is exposed to COVID-19 or anyother communicable disease or contracts COVID-19 or any other communicable disease, whether during any travel, stay,transportation, as applicable, or participation in the event or otherwise.

    15. The Organizer will market the event to endeavor to drive participation but makes no guarantee about the number ofparticipants at the event or the recognition of the event.

    16. The Organizer does not endorse the programs, products, or services of the participating individuals, institutions,organizations.

    17. Promotional activity is limited to the rooms or spots assigned by the Organizer. Sponsors are not permitted to featurenames or advertisements of non-exhibiting manufacturers, distributors, service providers or any other third party in anydisplay, parent and subsidiary companies of Sponsor excepted. Sponsor will not share, publish, post or disseminate anyconference participant’s data or use any such data for mass mailings or any other purpose other than as permitted by theparticipant for the Sponsor’s internal purposes.

    18. In order to maintain a professional atmosphere, prevent copyright infringement, and maintain a code of ethics, theOrganizer does not permit the videotaping, recording, or photography of any event proceedings, including sessions,discussions, keynote addresses, fairs, exhibits, workshops or receptions, without prior express written permission from theOrganizer.

    19. The Organizer may choose to record with or without video, or photograph, the event or portions of the event. Applicantwaives the right to notice of any such recording or photography and waives the right inspect or approve versions of suchimages or recordings used for publication or the written copy that may be used in connection with the images or therecordings. The Organizer is permitted, although not obligated, to include Applicant’s name as a credit in connection withsuch images or recordings.

    20. As further condition and consideration of sponsorship of the event and to promote the event and future events,Applicant grants to the Organizer and its assigns, licensees, and successors the irrevocable royalty free right to useApplicant’s image (including any logo), name and voice, as applicable to persons speaking, in all forms and media, includingphotograph, video and other imaging or recording, and including for advertising, throughout the world in perpetuity.

    21. Applicant assumes all responsibility for and will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Organizer and its affiliates,subsidiaries, directors, managers, officers, members, shareholders, partners, employees, agents and insurers (“OrganizerIndemnitees”) from any and all claims, demands, suits, expenses (including legal fees), and liability (“Liabilities”) for anydamage, loss, harm or injury to any invitee, attendee, or participant, or any property, of the Applicant or any of its affiliates,subsidiaries, directors, managers, officers, members, shareholders, employees, trustees, or agents and also any Liabilitiesarising out of Sponsor’s application for, sponsorship of or participation in, the event.

    22. These Terms and the Sponsorship Package and each of their attachments represent the entire agreement between theApplicant and the Organizer on the subject matter of the event and may not be altered unless mutually agreed upon inwriting.

    23. If any provision of these Terms or the application of any provision to either the Organizer or the Applicant is held by acourt of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or contrary to any law, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain infull force and effect and the invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent to render suchprovision valid and enforceable. The use of the word “or” means “and/or.” The terms “include,” “includes” or “including” arenot exclusive and are inclusive, and mean include, includes or including, “without limitation.” These Terms will not beconstrued or interpreted to the disadvantage of Sponsor as the drafting party.
