Sub-Theme: Godly LeadershipTopic: Types/Styles Of Leadership.Text: Ezek. 34: 1-6; John 10: 1-16.Aims: i. Identifythevarious types / styles of leadership;
ii. Stimulate the desire for appropriate style of leadership;
iii. Warn against the impending danger of ungodly leadership styles.
IntroductionAmong Christians and political leaders, there are shepherds and hirelings. These may be recognized by their type /style of leadership. The shepherds keeps the flocks safe hirelings prey on the flock while the shepherds keep the flock safe, lead and guide them on their journey of life, while the hirelings prey on the flock. The personality, environment, and understanding of a leader contribute greatly to his/her leadership style/type.
Study Guide1. From Dan. 3: 4-6; Matt.4:18, 19; Acts 15:6-21; Philemon 14,
21; identify some types/styles of leadership.2. Define and discuss the following leadership types / styles
(relate to the key texts as far as possible)i. Autocratic leadership – Dan.3:4-6; 1 Peter 5:3;ii. Democratic leadership – Acts 15:6-7, 12-14;iii. Transformational leadership – Mark 3:14; Phil.2:20-
23;iv. Team leadership – 1 Sam. 30:1-17.v. Laisser-faire leadership – I Kings 20:39-40;vi. Spiritual leadership – Rom.8:14; Num.27:1-7.vii. Servant leadership – Mk.10:42-45; John 13:3-15.
3. What leadership style/type do you think the Scripture advocates for the Church? Mk.10:42-45; John 13:3-15. How much of it do you find in the Church today?Why?
4. What are some likely dangers of ungodly leadership type and style? Ezek.34:1-2, 7-10.
Conclusion: Christians who occupy leadership positions as politicians or disciplers must uphold the tenets of spiritual leadership at all times because all authority comes from God.
Food For Thought: The leadership style adopted may make ormar a godly leader.
Memory Verse: Ezek. 34: 2b.

GOD’S PROMISED PRESENCE
“Therefore thus saith the LORD; ‘I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies; my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and ‘a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem” Zech. 1:16.
A large portion of the Bible is prophetic, and perhaps a third or more of the prophetic passages refer to the Second Coming of Christ or events related to it. It is undeniably a major theme in the prophecy of both Old and New Testaments as seen in our readings this morning.
Regardless of what the scoffers and unbelievers say, Jesus is coming (2 Pet. 3:3-10). World history is barreling toward the conclusion that God ordained.
Christ’s earthly teaching was filled with references to His Second Coming (Matt. 24-25; Luke 21). When He was on trial for His life, Jesus, Jesus defended His own deity with a bold declaration of the Second Coming in the most triumphant terms. He told the High Priest, “ You will see the Son of Man Sitting at the right hand of Power, and Coming with the Clouds of Heaven (Mk. 14:26).
On the might of His betrayal, Christ told His disciples, “I go to prepare a place for you. And
if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to my self’ (Jn. 14:2-3). Not only is the credibility of God at stake in the Second Coming, but so is the credibility of His son. If Jesus does not return, He is a liar. Since “God cannot lie” (Titus 1:2). His promise guarantees Christ’s return.
Only Christ’s glorious, triumphant return can fulfill the hope of the saint – every true believers longs for that day. This blessed hope of every believer (Titus 2:13) is the terror of the world. For unbelievers, his coming means immediate, impartial judgment (1Thess. 1:7-10; Jude 14-15; Rev. 19:11-16); for believers – unmitigated joy! Jesus must return in order to execute just retribution on sinners and carry out judgment He has promised.
