The 10 Characteristics of Leadership

by Dr. John Gardner

1. Listening2. Empathy3. Action4. Delegation5. Enthusiasm6. Reflection7. Stewardship8. Humor9. Integrity10.Passion

It is your RESPONSIBILITY to get the class work you have missed, complete it and turn it in.

All work (assignments, projects and tests/quizzes) will receive 60 % for work submitted late. Plan ahead! Let your instructor know if you have extenuating circumstances as to why you missed the deadline. All tests will be available for retakes.

AFTER BEING ABSENT FROM CLASS:

1. Ask a neighbor to see exactly what work was done. (Was there an assignment in the book? Did you miss a quiz/test? Do you need to plan time to make-up a test/work?)

2. If you have any questions, be sure to see me at the end or beginning of class and I will help you. Be certain that you understand the assignment BEFORE you leave class.

3. If you were absent when an assignment was due write ABSENT at the top of your completed assignment when you turn in work.

4. If you are absent on the day a test or quiz is given, then you will take it the day you return. (Unless it has been a long illness.) It is your responsibility to ask me for the quiz or test that you missed.

While using the Business Department Facilities, a student is charged with the following responsibilities:

stations.5. To be courteous and respectful to all classmates and the teacher.6. To do nothing that will harm someone else physically or emotionally.7. No food, beverages or gum in the labs unless medical need. (Water only)11. Cell phones are allowed in class on a limited basis for educational learning and

support, not a distraction tool.12. To come to class on-time and be prepared to learn.

Computer Expectations:

Chromebook Charging. At the back of the room there is a table with a power strip to charge a few Chromebooks. Please plan on plugging your Chromebook in each night to be charged for the day for other classes.

Internet use is designed specifically for classroom research. See Auburn School District Internet Policy for specific details of contract.

Work submitted for credit will not be accepted unless it was created by the student and saved on his/her own directory. Do not assist another student by providing printouts of your work to neighbors—this is cheating.

To be responsible and display careful maintenance of the equipment

Absences and Tardy Policy:

See Student Handbook

*Note that 9 or more absences in a semester can jeopardize a student from receiving credit or a fail for the class.

One of the biggest challenges facing educators across the nation is student attendance. We are not an exception at AMHS. We would like your help in making sure your student is at school and in every class. AMHS defines chronic absenteeism as missing 10 percent or more of a school year. This translates to 18 days a year (9 days each semester) or two days every month.  Our main goal at AMHS is to educate your students and that is hard to do when they are not in school. Together we can work to make sure all students are in school and moving toward 100% graduation.

When a student is tardy they must sign-in report to the Attendance Office. If a teacher, counselor or administrator holds you back late, make sure you get a pass. In the world of work you are expected to be on time.

It is a fact that if you do not get in the habit of good attendance at school, that this bad habit carries over to the working world as an adult. You are expected to attend class and be on time.

Passes:All passes whether going to the office, locker, and bathroom will be limited to two per quarter. Keep track and use your time wisely!

Cheating:It is the responsibility of each student to complete his/her own work and to avoid cheating even the appearance of cheating. First violation will involve loss of grade for the assignment/test (0), parent notification and detention. The second violation is a full grade deduction for the quarter and again parent contact.

I have received and read the responsibility and expectation rules.
