What is speed?› How fast you are going

What does it depend on?› How much distance you cover over a period

Ex. You drive at an average of 100km/h. How long will it take to drive to Halifax, 500km away?

V (as in velocity) is used for speed. They are much the same.

Calculating speed

Ex. It takes Mr. Glenwright 0.8 hours to get to SHS, which is 45km from his house. What is his average speed when he travels to school?

Tom is travelling to Moncton which is 140km away. How long does it take him if he drives with an average velocity of 100km/hr?
