January-April 2018 Sermon Schedule

God’s footprints in a world in

flux

The times of the Judges in Israel and modern Europe could hardly be more different. But what is the same is that then, as now, we are in a time of radical change. In all the discord and defeat of the period before the monarchy God raised up some remarkable people. He came in power to deliver. Equally we are seeing some remarkable things that God is doing in Europe today. The evenings on Europe then and now will include testimonies from those in Continental Europe.

Exploring Matthew

We are going to take our time going through the whole of this Gospel. And for many reasons. This first Gospel combines the story of Jesus with his ethical teaching more fully than anywhere else. Equally no Gospel so closely links together the Old and New Testament as does Matthew, setting out the life of Jesus as the fulfilment of the law and prophets. It is a Gospel that combines a moving portrait of Jesus with a radical call to discipleship. Let it grip you and change you.
