The Master in Business Management is equivalent to 60 ECTS Credits at level 7 on the European Qualifications framework. Credits issued by ESEI International Business School.

· Demonstrate an applied understanding of the critical success factors for effective verbal and nonverbal communication in the context of public speaking

• Critically examine the main arguments of best fit Vs best practice approaches to strategic human management

• Consider the interplay between human resource management, corporate culture and the resource based view of the firm

• Identify relevant metrics in strategic human resource management and how to put HR policies into action

• Evaluate and understand how HR strategies can affect business performance, by implementation to a theoretical model of your choice

• Discuss the main theories in cross-cultural management and analyse existing research around a specific case-based example

• Apply theories of cross cultural management to both addressing a given challenge and to self reflection on the cultural influences on your own approach to teamwork, task and communication.

• Demonstrate an understanding of business type and how to evaluate Key Activities, Resources, and Partnerships to produce a valid business canvas model

• Apply theories of canvas modelling, user personas and problem scenarios to define and explain the offer’s key drivers

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT - (4 ECTS)Component Courses: Budgeting & Controlling • Produce an Operating Budget (Pro forma Income Statement) and a corresponding Cash flow Budget for the first year of a fictitious company.

• Demonstrate an understanding of all components of operational budgets by justifying each figure in the PFIS and contextualising key decisions with valid market research

• Evaluate and define estimated but realistic income and costs based on the current market.

DIGITAL BUSINESS - (3 ECTS)Component Courses: Setting up a website - the end user experience

• Produce a detailed plan for a business website which includes positioning justification through competitor analysis, critical evaluation of information architecture and user experience

• Demonstrate competence in the compilation of a moodboards and the selection of experience factors to justify site design and platform choice.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - (1.5 ECTS)Component Courses: Careers Skills• Discover new job search strategies, tools and the hidden job market

• Identify different networking tools and strategies to expand networking opportunities

• Produce a targeted resume for specific positions and organizations

• Demonstrate ability to identify and best market transferable skills

• Produce a Linkedin Profile with effective accomplishment-based job and skill statements

SOCIAL MEDIA, PR & BRAND COMMUNICATION - (5.5 ECTS)Component Courses: PR, Business Ethics, Social Media· Evaluate the importance of Business ethics to the modern and sustainable business

• Assess how ethical policies work in terms of rationalisation and psychological distance

• Critically appraise how ethical codes can be implemented and actually enforced in an effective way

• Conduct a competitor analysis to support a social media campaign

• Analyse and evaluate content options for a given social media strategy; including timing, ROI and KPIs

• Analyse the strategic role of PR in an organisation and evaluate how it can be measured

• With reference to two brands of your choice, assess the role of PR in the relationship between brand and consumer and identify critical success factors.

ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE

Participation 10%You will self and peer-assess your participation in the course, and receive feedback from profes-sors and tutors. Specifically, this includes evaluating your class preparation, your contribution to a positive learning environment inside the classroom, as well as your willingness to collaborate with and help your classmates. This way we can advance together and learn from each other. Our tenacity and humility, alongside a positive attitude towards our work and our peers, are criti-cal success factors both within and outwith the classroom.

Progressive assessment 40%Forty percent of your master’s degree will be assessed via written assignments. These will be based on content from different core module components and will focus on a practical case study or issue. This gives you the opportunity to apply what you have learned on the course to something practical, offering you scope for creativity and for wider research in an area that truly interests you. Additionally, some modules are assessed in class, either through communicative activities (e.g. roleplays) or tests.

Thesis (written + defence) 50% At the end of the academic year, you will be required to submit a final written project, which can take one of two forms:• A case study, which analyses an issue relevant to your study discipline.• A full business plan that could be used to attract investment.Your thesis project will be the most rewarding piece of academic work you do, particularly if you’re Passionate about your choice of topic. The aim of this assessment is to test the indepen-dent research skills you have acquired during your time at university, and allows you to demons-trate your expertise, knowledge and skills acquired during your studies.
