Thequestion we ask ourselves is: Does the design work?Not just for tour players, but for all players. We havestayed true to this commitment, even when it wouldbe easy to simply design a shape, without regards tothe mass and dimensional characteristics which are

I N D EXWhen Ralph published “The Maltby Playability Factorfor irons” in 2004, it set a standard for the way ironsshould perform. We use the principles laid out in thebook for every design we do. We know it works.We know it is the way golf clubs should be designed,underneath all the fancy artwork, packaging andmarketing hype.

Our goal throughout the Maltby, CER and DM linesis to offer a variety of shapes and looks THAT WORK.If we are not satisfied with the performance aspectsof the design, they don’t make the cut. We under-stand that not all golfers like the same design. Weunderstand that golfers have different tastes and mayhave preferences in a club design. One of the toughestthings we do is retire a design that we know works.However, we understand that new is often timesviewed as better, even though it may not be. WithMaltby and The Golfworks designs you never haveto worry about that from a performance standpoint.We continually travel the world looking for newtechnologies we can apply to our designs. That iswhy we have multiple new design options every year.That is the beauty of being in the component business.We can offer many options and features, withoutcompromising performance.

We are fortunate to be involved in the design of golfclubs. We also love the game and are all passionategolfers. We grew up in the game, have all played withgood and bad equipment. We all understand what ittakes to make the best performing equipment. Wetest, re-test and re-test again, in the lab and on thecourse. Naturally, we all have our preferences in lookand style, but the end result must always be the same,great performance.
