Don't Need...who laid down their lives in peacekeeping

operations across the world India has been proving it's mettle, con-

tributing forces in peacekeeping ops for over25 years India has been facing terrorism for 25

yrs. New York has faced terrorism as well The future of the international commu-

nity is now dependent on how we respond tothe greatest threat that we face today:Terrorism The nations who harbour terrorists,

train them and/or help them in carrying outops, The UN must stand against these nations In 2008 Mumbai blasts not only citi-

zens but tourists were also killed. The perpe-trators of this heinous act are roaming free We have nabbed 2 terrorists alive and

we know who's responsible for this. Talks and terrorism cannot go hand in

hand Nawaz Sharif's four points not needed.

Just one point stop terrorism and begin talks Talks were held between our Prime

Minister and you in Ufa NSAs were also scheduled to talk, we

want the talks to happen India is ready for talks Their successful implementation will

require political resolve and an inclination toshare finances & technology As a woman & elected MP, it is my

conviction that there is a shortcut to socialchange - empower the girl child When we meet in Paris, the world will

expect us to deliver an ambitious and credibleagreement Developing countries can do way more

if they have provision of tech, finance, &capacity building support from developednations In India, our motto is "sabka saath,

sabka vikas", the welfare of all our people. For an organization like the United

Nations, 70 years has a unique significance. Itis an occasion for revitalization and forrenewal In the Eastern tradition, the Banyan is

a tree that signifies wisdom, yet is non-judg-mental and all-encompassing Unlike humans who may have planted

its seed, banyan is still young at 70. But with-out constant regeneration & expansion, itwithers

Nations That..birthday as the International Day of Non-

Violence. UN seems a passive organisation when

it comes to quelling conflict in some cornersof the world. We must ask ourselves if we have

political will to craft alternatives to conflictand to pursue them with commitment. India has been the largest contributor

to peace endeavors. It is lamentable that thecountry that provides soldiers for peacekeep-ing has little to no role in decision making. The future of the international commu-

nity is now dependent on how we respond tothe greatest threat that we face today:Terrorism. Countries that support terror mustbe made to pay a heavy price. The mastermind behind the Mumbai

terror attacks are walking free. New attacksare taking place. Recently we have caughttwo Pakistani terrorists alive. These terror attacks are meant to desta-

bilise India and legitimise Pakistan's illegaloccupation of parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Talks and terror cannot go together.

Give up terrorism and we will sit and talk. Ifthe response is serious and credible, India isprepared to address all outstanding issuesthrough a bilateral dialogue. As a woman and elected parliamentar-

ian, it is my conviction that there is a shortcutto social change - empowering the girl child. India has always been a willing partner

in global efforts to counter climate change. We will play our due role in reaching a mean-ingful, equitable and effective agreement inParis.

AAP Now ...AAPs National Executive, said. His disenchantment was reflected most in

his comparison of his boss with PM Modi,AAP's chief target for political attacks. MrGandhi said, "Personification of just one indi-vidual is not right. Even PM Modi doesn't dothat but Mr Kejriwal does."

The decision of AAP's central leadership todissolve its Mumbai and Maharashtra unitsthis morning was very sudden. "Sycophancyhas won," Mayank Gandhi tweeted, adding asarcastic "Jai Ho."

Mr Gandhi had earned the ire of AAP's topleadership earlier this year when he had writ-ten a controversial blog against his party forsacking key leaders Prashant Bhushan andYogendra Yadav.

He said the going had been tough since, buthe was not looking at joining any other party."This is my party...May be I am not cut forthis kind of petty, competitive politics. I camefor a different reason. They can throw me out. It's their choice," he said.

AAP says the move to dissolve its statebody is part of a process to restructure and

strengthen the unit. It has promised a newteam soon.

The party, which stormed to power in Delhiin February this year, has seen several roundsof rebellion and expulsions since, the last inits Punjab unit.

Airport Authority ...Rs. 150 crore. We have asked them to make

an additional payment of Rs. 70 lakh per dayfrom today besides the daily billing of Rs.1.30 crore," sources told PTI.

The AAI is looking at recovering the entiredues of Rs. 150 crore by the fiscal, they said.

Earlier in April this year, the Gurgaon-based low-cost carrier had sought a three-year moratorium on the dues besides seekinga waiver on the interest against the dues.

The AAI had, however, turned down theplea. Confirming the developments, aSpiceJet spokesperson said the airline hasagreed to the proposal. "We have started mak-ing additional payments as requested by theAAI," the spokesperson said.

SpiceJet, which is now under the ownershipof its original co-founder Ajay Singh, hadposted its second straight quarterly profit atRs. 71.8 crore in the April-June period of thecurrent fiscal, helped by a steep 42 per centreduction in costs and higher seat occupancy.

Mr Singh took back the reins of the budgetcarrier early this year after acquiring theentire 58.46 per cent stake of Kalanithi Maranand Kal Airways Pvt Ltd in February as partof a revival plan.

Key Army...issues both during peace and war.Five other positions are vacant too -- the

Director General of Defence IntelligenceAgency, Director General of Rastriya Rifles,Director General of Mechanized Forces,Director General of Military EngineeringServices and the crucial post of MilitarySecretary.

The Defence Intelligence Agency is a tri-services organisation drawing expertise fromthe Army, Air Force and the Navy. Its task isto collect, collate and analyse intelligenceconcerning the military. It also advises theNational Security Council.

Its last DG, Lieutenant General Anil Bhalla, retired a month ago. There has been noreplacement.

The Directorate General of Rashtriya Riflesoversees logistics and overall management ofRR battalions deployed in counter-insur-gency operations. Over 60 battalions of theRR is deployed in Jammu and Kashmir alone.

The commander of the Mechanized Forcesdeals with logistics, procurement and overallmanagement of about around 60 Tank regi-ments and 40 Mechanized Infantry Units. TheMilitary Engineering Service services allthree forces.

The Military Secretary deals with all thetransfer and promotions and is one ofPrincipal Staff officer to the Chief of Armystaff.

The government, however, played downthe gaps. A senior official of the defence min-istry said, "There is no reason for alarm, issues in each area are being addressed satis-factorily."

State Has...country is essential for India s progress and

development. The Vice President said that a meeting of

hearts and minds of the people was essentialfor India to move ahead.

UP Government...BJP-RSS, it is the Akhilesh Yadav govern-

ment which is to be blamed... not just inDadri, but at other places too. People are outto spoil the atmosphere yet the government isnot taking action against them," Mayawatisaid.

A 50-year-old man was beaten to death andhis son seriously injured by a mob whichbarged into their house in Dadri village lastMonday following rumours that a cow hasbeen slaughtered and the beef was stored inhis house.

Alleging that government has never shownany remorse in any such unfortunate incident,Mayawati said, the Samajwadi Party govern-ment has never appeared serious in fulfillingits constitutional duty of ensuring justice tothose affected.

It has become a practice for this govern-ment to "weigh heinous crimes in money" asit believes that "sorrows and tears can bebought and sold", she said.

"In this incident too, the government hasfailed to ensure justice to the affected familyand in turn exposed the internal understand-ing between Samajwadi Party and the BJP-RSS combine," the BSP chief said.

It has exposed the reality of the bad law andorder situation in Uttar Pradesh duringAkhilesh Yadav regime, Mayawati said.
