Bearing the Cross!Mark 15:16-24

Deny yourself and take up your cross daily and follow me!

Mark 15:16-2420"And after they had mocked Him, they took the purple off Him, and put His garments on Him. And they led Him out to crucify Him. 21And they pressed into service a passer-by coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene (the father of Alexander and Rufus), to bear His cross."

The Cross is Better! Must Jesus bear the cross alone,

And all the world go free?No, there’s a cross for everyone,

And there’s a cross for me.

Simon the Cyrenian had to

Deny himself Pick up Yeshua’s CrossFollow him to Calvary

Cyrenean ancient Greek city in Northern Africa …now the coast of Libyarepresented the limits of the known world for Jews and the Roman Empire. Travel from Cyrene to Jerusalem (900 miles) = month+ and was dangerous…Simon is coming into the city as Yeshua’s marching out to Calvary

Disgraced

Despised

Confusion

Surreal Experience

Bearing Another's Cross

Like Simon of Cyrene…
