He said he should be starting the project somewhere aroundthe 1st ofMay and would be done with it in aweekend's time. Mrs. Hagan asked ifsheandMrs. Trout could be present when the workwasdone, as they originated the plan andwanted to see it done correctly. Mr. Corder stated absolutely, and he would notifY theEagle Scout that they would be there tooverseethe project. Both ladies asked that thenext beautification project to be done, be Menard Park, as it is badly in need ofbeautification.NEWBUSINESS

    Beautification Ad HocCommittee ReportMr. Visconti onceagain brought up the subject of the fountain. He would like to see theplaque put back and somecoorful landscaping added. Mr. Corder stated he wasnot infavor of spending moremoneyonthe fountain areawhen it is going tobe moved and thatareabeing turned into a turn lane for 442. He said they have replanted that area severaltimes and the pond in the fountain is really too small and onwindy days the water blowsout and kills the plants due to the chlorine in the water.Mr.Visconti askedwhen the Park Avenue project wasgoing tobe started andMr.Corderrepl ied he has appl ied for the permit for that and D.O.T. is asking for someadditionalinformation and also they are saying wewill not be able todo the secondmediannorth ofPark Avenue as planned as abusiness is going in there, and it will be used for a turn lane.Historica Ad Hoc CommitteeMr. Tanksley wasabsent, therefore there wasnohistorical report, however, Mr. Tiptonstated there have been some meetings of the Oak Hill Historica Board and they areinterested in a cooperative effort between Edgewater and New Smyrna. He said Mr.Tanksley has beenworking with the folks in St. August ine onahistorical project and thatis taking a lot ofhis time right nowThe Board receved acopy of the City' s Historic Preservation Ordinance for them toreview. Mr. Corder statedweneed to very sooncall the first meet ing of the HistoricPreservation Board and get that underway. There arecertain state requi rements that haveto bemet. He said there areissues coming up that will have to go through this Board, thefirst onepossibly being the Oaklynn Cemetery. The Board discussed someof the oderbuildings withinthe city which they feel qualify as inneedofhistorica preservat ion.MISCELLANEOUS

    Mrs. Trout asked ifMr. Corder had invest igated the costs of the pole brackets for theseasonal banners, which they had discussed at earlier meetings. Mr. Corder stated he hadreviewed it somewhat and the pole brackets arealmost as expensive as the banners.
