GENERAL ARCHITECTURAL NOTES
1. ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE W ITH THE CURRENTLY ADOPTED EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE, STATE OF MINNESOTA BUILDING CODE AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES AS ADMINISTERED BY THE LOCAL GOVERNING BUILDING OFFICIALS.
2. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING ALL WORK BOTH CONTAINED IN THE ARCHITECTURAL CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDED SEPARATELY UNDER DESIGN/BUILD CONTRACTS FOR THE PROJECT. THE ARCHITECTURAL CONTRACT DOCUMENTS IN NO W AY IMPLY A COMPLETE AND COMPRHENSIVE COORDINATION OF ALL W ORK AND CONSTRUCTION REQUIRED FOR THE PROJECT.
3. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT IMMEDIATELY IN WRITING OF ANY DISCREPANCIES WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION, SITE CONDITIONS AND IF APPLICABLE EXISTING BUILT CONDITIONS.
4. THE SITE AND LANDSCAPE DESIGN FOR THE PROJECT, INCLUDING THE PARKING LOT CONSTRUCTION, SHALL BE AS DESIGNED AND BUILT UNDER A SEPARATE CONTRACT BY THE OWNER. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO THE ARCHITECTURAL DRAW INGS FOR THE LOCATIONS OF DRIVEW AYS, SIDEWALKS, STOOPS AND PROPOSED GRADES AT THE BUILDING PERIMETER AND COORDINATE WORK ACCORDINGLY.
5. ALL FASTENERS, HANGERS AND STRUCTURAL FRAMING ACCESSORIES PLACED IN CONTACT WITH PRESSURE TREATED WOOD OR ENGINEERED BUILDING MATERIALS SHALL BE EITHERSTAINLESS STEEL OR GALVANIZED IN ACCORDANCE W ITH MANUFACTURERS REQUIREMENTS FOR CONTACT WITH PRESSURE TREATMENT COMPOUND TYPE AND RETENTION RATE.
6. LIGHTING LOCATIONS INDICATED IN THE ARCHITECTURAL DRAW INGS TAKE PRECEDENT. STRUCTURAL MEMBERS, MECHANICAL DUCTWORK AND PLUMBING PIPING SHALL BE COORDINATED TO AVOID CONFLICTS WITH RECESSED AND SURFACE MOUNTED LIGHT FIXTURE LOCATIONS.
7. THE ARCHITECT SHALL HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE IDENTIFICATION, DISCOVERY, PRESENCE, HANDLING, REMOVAL OR DISPOSAL OF, OR EXPOSURE OF PERSONS TO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS IN ANY FORM AT THE PROJECT SITE.

ALL SPLICES IN REINFORCED MASONRY WALLS SHALL BE LAPPED AS FOLLOWS:VERTICAL REINFORCING: 48 BAR DIAMETERS OR AS INDICATED ON THE PLANS
MAINTAIN AN AIR TEMPERATURE ABOVE 40 DEGREES F. ON BOTH SIDES OF THE MASONRY FOR AT LEAST 48 HOURS AFTER THE MASONRY WORK IS COMPLETED.

SHOP DRAWINGS ARE AN AID FOR FIELD PLACEMENT AND ARE SUPERCEDED BY THE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS. ANY REVIEW OF THE SHOP DRAWINGS BY THIS OFFICE IS ONLY FOR GENERAL CONFORMANCE TO THE STRUCTURAL REQUIREMENTS AND IN NO WAY GUARANTEES THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF THE INFORMATION THEREON.
