ARMCHAIR TRAVEL - “Antarc=ca”
Wednesday, June 13th at 1:00pm
Few know that palm trees grow in the
Antarc�c region but there are a few, maybe
not real, and there is a real “swimming hole”
there. Join Jim Spears and Alita Marks as they
relive their 25th anniversary “trip of a life-
�me” to Antarc�ca. We will see penguins,
birds and marine mammals in large numbers.
The scenery is unmatched on any other place
on earth.
Presented as a collabora�on between the
Center and the Barrington Community School.
Fee: $10 per adult/$5 senior ci�zen. Call BCS

membership at the Peck Center for Adult
Enrichment or joining for the first �me. If you
have an interest in our programs, we are
interested in your par�cipa�on . Membership
provides all sorts of perks and opportuni�es,
including 2nd Story Theatre �ckets, par�cipa-
�on in exercise programs, use of the Fitness
Room with big screen TV, music, trips and
bowling. And more...Join us for a balanced
lunch Monday through Friday and help us
complete the current jigsaw puzzle.
The Membership party will include lunch,
ice cream, and great entertainment by
Brad Bradford, who will present his country
legends floorshow!

SPECIAL PROGRAMS SPECIAL PROGRAMS
BELLY DANCING FOR FUN AND FITNESS Fridays 10:00 am
Instructor Ni will be at the Peck Center
to teach Belly Dancing.
Come out and learn the basic footwork, isola�ons,
shimmies, cymbal-playing and, of course, magical veil
movements that are the hallmark of this remarkable
dance. Each class includes a warm-up, hands-on
instruc�on in isola�ons and basic dance steps, an aerobic
sec�on where we “put it all together” and ends with a
cool-down period. Throughout it all you will learn correct
posture, alignment and grace while dancing, and most
important…you’ll have fun!
ALZHEIMER’S CAREGIVER SUPPORT
First Monday of the month, 1:00pm
The Alzheimer’s Associa�on con�nues the caregiver
support group at the Center, mee�ng the first Monday of
the month (or on the second Monday if Monday holiday).
BOWLING AT DUDEK BOWLING LANES

Cost is $3 per person, per game and
includes shoe rental; payable to Dudek Lanes Meet at the Peck Center and the Senior van will transport

Class meets in Studio room of Peck Center
An evidence-based 8-week program designed to reduce
the fear of falling and increase ac�vity levels in older
adults. Emphasizes strategies to reduce and manage
falls. For adults age 60 and older who are ambulatory
and looking to improve flexibility, balance and strength.

Signing up as early as possible will let the event coordinator
know there is an interest, as they count on these numbers
to prepare and move forward with their events/classes/
trips. If they see liNle or no interest, there is a good
possibility the program will be cancelled.
MINDFULNESS, MEDITATION & MOVEMENT
The new two month series will run
Fridays, 1:00-2:15pm, July through August This class will explore different methods to develop your
own Medita�on Prac�ce through exercises with breath,
body and mind.
Wear comfortable clothing, bring water. We will sit in
chairs in this class.
No sign up necessary; simply scan your card upon arrival.
“PAWSOX EXPRESS”
Nothing gets rid of the winter blahs like dreams of a
summer baseball game, especially when it’s in our own
back yard!
This summer, hop aboard our PawSox Express on
Saturday, July 7, 2018 for a 6:15pm game between the
Pawtucket Red Sox and the Yankees’ farm team, the
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders.
Families, adults and seniors are all welcome to join us
for this group ou�ng offered by Barrington
Community School, the Barrington Recrea�on
Department and the BAY Team!
The bus will depart at 4:30pm, giving you �me to
par�cipate in pre-game ac�vi�es. Return will be aQer
the fireworks display which follows the game.
Our “Caps & Dogs” package includes:
♦ Reserved �ckets between home Plate and 3rd base
♦ High Five Tunnel: line up on the field to “high five”
the Paw Sox starters as they take to the field
♦ Par�cipate in a pre-game parade to recognize our
group on the field
♦ PawSox Hat

♦ Refreshments: hot dog, soQ drink and chips
♦ Fireworks aQer the game
In addi�on, the July 7 program includes Pirates &
Princesses Night! Grandparents! Bring your grandchil-
dren, in costume if they’d like, to this very special

Includes all features noted above, school bus
transporta�on and trip escort.
Note: While we do not receive any reduc�ons from the
Red Sox for children, we have elected to offer reduced
rates for this age group.
