Brief Introductions of Attractions in this program
Wushu (also known as kung-fu or
martial arts) is one of the typical
demonstrations of traditional
Chinese culture. It is a sport
which utilizes both brawn and
brain. Wushu is not only a
sporting exercise but also an
artistic form. It is used to cure
illness as well as for self-defense and is a comprehensive form of culture of the human
body.
With the origins from Shaolin Temple in Northern China, the main branches of Shaolin Kung Fu spread far and wide
through China, undergoing many revisions and adaptations. The present system, known as Northern Shaolin,
specializes in long-range fighting techniques. Based on some of the original temple boxing heritage, the
proponents of this system maintain that kicks are more effective than hand movements because the legs obviously
are longer than the arms.

Brief Introductions of Attractions in this program
The Quanjude Restaurant is the largest roast duck restaurant in Beijing. The history of the roast duck can be traced back to as earlyas the Yuan Dynasty (1206-1368), specialized chefs have developed the idea that the skin of the duck should be so soft andcrisp that it melts in the mouth. In applying the traditional method ofpreparation, the chefs at Quanjude pay particular attention to thequality of the duck, the auxiliary ingredients and the choice of the type of wood burned in the oven. Special farms supply plump
Beijing ducks weighing an average of 2.5 kilograms each. The preparation of the dish requires a series of complicated steps, which include inflating theunbroken skin like a balloon so that it roasts just right. Quanjude employs chefs who specializein these techniques, while other chefs prepare the non-duck dishes. The slicing of the meat from the carcass of the duck is an art in itself. A skilled chef is able tocut between 100 and 120 slices in four or five minutes, each slice with an equal portion of both skin and meat. Inventiveness is another quality cultivated at Quanjude. One seasoned chefhas mastered more than 80 dishes made from the duck's innards, head, wings and webs. Aselection of these dishes, whether hot, cold, boiled, fried, stewed or pickled, will be the makings of an all-duck banquet. Foot massage is a most unbelievably relaxing treatment in which pressure to specific points of the foot is believed to cure or prevent disease. The benefits of a foot massage include improved circulation and toxin removal, stimulated lymphatic drainage and immune system boost, reduced stiffness and improved flexibility, accelerated physical healing, stress relief, improved sleep and clarity of mind.

In 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List and declared this former imperial garden as " An outstanding expression of the creative art of Chinese landscape garden design, incorporating the works of humankind and nature in a harmonious whole." Covering more than 290 hectares with two third of the total area occupied by water, Summer Palace can be divided into political zone and
scenery zone. The original Capital Museum was established in 1981 inside Confucius Temple. Construction of the new site started from 2001 and the brand new museum was open to public on May 18, 2006. The museum is not only the base for the protection and study of cultural relics in the Beijing area, but also the important place for teaching patriotism, history, and science to teenagers. With a rich collection, excellent furnishing, and
high-quality service, the museum shows the culture of the ancient capital Beijing and promotes cultural exchange.
Beijing Zoo is now the biggest zoo in China with the largest animal species and amount. The highlight of the Beijing Zoo is perhaps the Hall of Giant Panda which is only found in China and recognized as China’s national treasures and symbol. Due to people's love for them and its endangered status, the giant pandas always receive the "VIP" treatment wherever they go. People can tell who lives here by its unique shape of the hall with bamboo,
the favorite food for the cute panda baby. In the hall the lush bushes and bamboo make the place no different from the wild habitat of giant panda in southwest China.
