OLIVE GARDEN ZUPPA TUSCANO(because everyone needs a little more Olive Garden in their food storage!)

1 1/2 cup dehydrated diced potatoes1/2 c potato flakes1 tablespoon cornstarch1/3 cup non-instant dry milk1 tablespoon dried minced garlic or garlic powder3 tablespoon dry chicken bouillon1/4 cup dried minced onion1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (to taste)1 cup freeze-dried Italian sausage pieces (spicy or regular)2 large leaves kale (dried in microwave-see video on www.storethisnotthat.com)

Layer ingredients in wide mouth quart jar in the follow-ing order:

1) 3/4 cup DH potatoes2) 1/2 of powdered mixtureTap jar gently on counter to level and settle ingredients3) All of sausage4) 3/4 cup DH potatoes5) Remaining powdered mixtureTap jar gently again to make room for the kale.6) Top with dried kale broken into pieces small enough to just fit into jar.Tape instructions to back of jar and decorate if desired.

DRYING KALETo dry: Remove stems, then wash and

pat dry kale leaves. Lay flat, in single layer on double thickness of paper towel and cover with another double paper towel

layer. Cook on high in microwave for 1 minute. If paper towel is very damp,

replace with dry one and re- layer. Cook for 1 more minute. Turn leaves over and check if done (crunchy). If not, cook in 30 second increments until leaves are

crunchy. Remove and let cool. Set aside

Instructions for use:Remove kale from top of jar and set aside. Mix remaining contents of jar with 10 cups of water. Bring to a boil and turn off heat. Allow soup to sit, covered, for 30 minutes. Add in kale and bring to a boil. Allow soup to simmer for 10 more minutes. Then enjoy!

FRIENDSHIP BROWNIES (because only real friends give brownies this good!)

2/3 cup sugar1/2 cup vanilla chips*1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips*2/3 cup brown sugar1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa3 Tbsp. dry egg powder**1 cup all-purpose flour1 tsp. baking soda1/2 tsp. salt

Layer the ingredients in the order given into a wide-mouth 1 quart canning jar. Pack each layer in place before adding the next ingredient.

Tape instructions to back of jar and decorate if desired.

*Any mix-ins can be used, just be sure the amount equals one cup. We love crushed brownies, M&M’s, Andes chocolates....you get the idea!

**If you don’t use powdered eggs be sure to omit the water on the instructions for use and instead add 3 eggs.

Instructions for use:1 jar Friendship Brownie Mix2/3 cup oil1/3 cup water1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl mix together dry ingredients with wet ingredients, beat until ingredients are well incorporated (if you’re using powdered eggs they may need to beat for 2-3 minutes until the oil gets worked in). Spread in a greased 9-inch square baking pan. Bake for 34-36 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool before cutting.

CREAMY TOMATO BASIL TORTELLINI(because busy nights happen and this is the perfect cure!)

heaping 1/2 cup tomato powder1 t. beef bouillon1/2 t. oregano1 t. garlic3/4 t. basilpinch crushed red pepper1/4 cup powdered milk1 T. cornstarch1 t. sugar2 t. salt2 cups dry tortellini (cheapest in the bulk section of Winco)

Mix tomato powder, bouillon, oregano, garlic, basil and crushed red pepper together and place in the bottom of 1-quart wide mouth canning jar.

Mix powdered milk, cornstarch, sugar and salt and place on top of tomato mixture in jar.

Top with dry tortellini.

Tape instructions to back of jar and decorate if desired.

Instructions for use:1 jar Creamy Tomato Basil Tortellini4 cups of water

Mix contents of jar and water in a large skillet. Bring to a boil and allow to simmer for 20-25 minutes, covered, or until tortellinis are soft. Stir occassionally and add water as necessary.
