1. An Evening of Fine Dining for 10 provided by DYC Manager and Chef Jim Sides - 5 Course Meal and Wine Pairings Chef Sides attended culinary school through the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, at the time an advanced program administered by Le Cordon Bleu. Chef Sides transferred to the Paris campus full time in his second year. During school, and immediately after graduation, Chef Sides took several apprentice positions in some of the finest hotels and restaurants in Paris and London including stints with notable chefs such as Albert Roux at Le Gavroche and with Marco Pierre White. After his apprenticeships were completed Chef Sides held Head Chef positions at some of the best hotels throughout the United Kingdom before hanging up his toque to focus on running hotels. During his chef career Jim Sides was able to earn several titles such as: Certified Executive Chef Certified Culinary Director Master Culinarian During his career he won a Silver medal in Hot Entrée’s in the European Chef’s Culinary Olympics, earning an appearance at the International Culinary Olympics. He was also admitted into the British Branch of the Culinary Academy of France. He has extensively studied the cuisines of China, Greece, Italy, and Continental Europe as well as the cuisine of America. Although now a General Manager, Jim Sides says “once a chef, always a chef” and keeps his skills honed by constantly cooking and experimenting. Chef Sides attended culinary school through the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, at the time an advanced program administered by Le Cordon Bleu. Chef Sides transferred to the Paris campus full time in his

second year.

During school, and immediately after graduation, Chef Sides took several apprentice positions in some of the finest hotels and restaurants in Paris and London including stints with notable chefs such as Albert

2. Helicopter Ride and Checkered Flag for Gold Cup Final Heat – One person in the Helicopter and one person waves the checkered flag for the final heat of the Gold Cup. Both join the winner on the podium to award the Gold Cup.

The waving of the checkered flag to signify the winner of the oldest trophy in motorsports is your honor. Following the landing of the helicopter, both will join in the podium ceremony to award the Gold Cup to the 2014 winner. The Checkered Flag will become the property of the Winning Bidder following the autographing of the Flag.

9. Bill Rands will fly the winning bidder and one other person to Mackinac Island for lunch and back on a day mutually agreeable, in his Beechcraft Bonanza N25720. N25720 has capacity for six seats and currently carries four, with a range of 900 nautical miles and a maximum cruising speed of 170 knots (194 mph.) The Bonanza will get us to the island, or back to Detroit City Airport, in about two hours if we go fast, or 3 and 1/2 hours if we enjoy the beauty of Michigan, and take the scenic route!

10. APBA Driving School on the Detroit River - Learn to Pilot an actual 5 Litre hydroplane around the Detroit River Gold Cup Course. The successful bidder must agree to capsule training in the DYC Pool prior to the driving experience. The bidder will be outfitted in all of the safety equipment including helmet, suit, kevlar, etc. Then the actual driving experience in the river will be coached by two-way radio with gradually increasing speeds around the short course.
