ASME Awards and Grants (Due May 30, 2015):• Start up Student Section Grants

-The purpose of this grant is to provide seed money to selected new student sections-Match up to $500 in funds from ME/MET department for up to 24 student sections

• Multidisciplinary Humanitarian Project Grants-Funding for an engineering-based humanitarian proposal outlining an innovative and impactful multidisciplinary project aligned with ASME strategic priorities-Up to 2 grants at $3500 each

• Outstanding Student Section Awards (> 3 years)-For demonstrated outstanding leadership, positive impact on students’ professional development, sustainable section growth and sharing best practices-Up to 10 awards at $1000 each

• Outstanding Student Section Awards (< 3 years)-To recognize new student sections that have demonstrated outstanding leadership, positive impact on students’ professional development and sustainable future growth-Up to 6 awards at $500 each

• Student Section Project Cost Awards -To recognize creativity, resourcefulness and innovation for producing the best and most effective content-Up to 6 awards at $500 each

Provide an opportunity for engineering & technology students to engage with, and learn from engineers and managers from a diverse set of industries. SPDCs also serve as the venue for the Student Design Competition (SDC) and Old Guard sponsored competitions that are focused on professional technical communication skills.

Innovative Design Simulation Challenge (IDSC)

An opportunity for ME and multi-disciplinary undergraduate students from around the world to showcase their readiness in following up the leading edge of modeling and simulation technologies

Purpose statements:• To serve as representatives for ASME student members, ME Departments and ASME

about relevant programs for the stakeholders.• To develop and share best practices on student professional development through

social media and the ASME.org community.• To recognize outstanding student sections with Student Section awards and grants.• To encourage upgrading to ASME corporate membership following graduation.

Student Regional Chair (SRC) Elections• One SRC nomination allowed from each student section• Submit an application letter (statement of purpose, biographical statement, prior

relevant experience) along with 3 minute or less video submission.• Submit a nomination letter from your student section advisor (preferably endorsed by
