PUBLIC SAFETY MINUTES

January 5,2015

PRESENT: Josh lydon, Ed Lukasek, Kevin Erueggeman, Alli Karrels

ABSENT: Jim ChurchALSO PRESENT: Mark Sund, Dave Kuderer, Kevin Riley, Mayor Button

Josh Lydon called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m

A motion was made by Alli Karrels and seconded by Kevin Brueggeman to approve the consent

agenda consistinB of the minutes of the November 10, 2014 meeting and the Police Department's

monthly reports for October and November and bills. Motion carried 4-0.

Upon payment of all fees and fines, a motion was made by Kevin Brueggeman and seconded by AlliKarrels to approve the renewal bartender's license for Harold Oesterle and to deny the bartender'slicence for Ashley Tester based on her background check. Motion carried 4-0.

Dave Kuderer sent out 5 bid requests to dealerships in the area for 2 squad cars to be purchased in

2015. Three bids were received and the one that had the best deal on 2 Ford lnterceptors was Ewald

Auto Group from Hartford, Wisconsin. Amotionwas made by Kevin Brueggeman and seconded byEd

Lukasek to approve the bid from Ewald Auto Group for the purchase of 2 2015 Ford lnterceptors forthe amount of $36,121.00 which includes a credit for 2 trade-ins. Motion carried 4-0.

There were no items mentioned for future consideration.

A motion was made by Ed Lukasek and seconded by Kevin Brueggeman to adiourn at 5:47 p'm.

Motion carried 4-0.

excess of the maximum fine or forfeiture allowed under State law for the sameoffense and further provided the penalty and forfeiture for parking violations onhighways shall be the amount applicable to such violations by owners oroperators of motor vehicles under this chapter.

7.11 BICYCLES (Rep. & Rec., 08-19-08)

(1) UNCLAIMED OR UNIDENTIFIED BICYCLES. All abandoned bicyclesand unidentified bicycles remaing in the police department custody may, after 30days, be disposed of, made available to the publice for purchase, or sold atauction.

RIDING ON SIDEWALKS. Bicyclists exercising due care may drive andrate their bicycles upon the sidewalks, except sidewalks in the central

business districts when such riding shall not jeopardize the safey of pedestriansthereon.

(3) BICYCLE RENTAL AGENCIES. A rental agency within the city shall notrent or offer any bicycle for rent unless the bicycle is equipped with the lampsand other equipment required by the State Motor Vehicle Code.

(4) EFFECTS OF REGULAIONS

(a) No person shall perform any act forbidden or fail to perform any actrequired in this section.

(b) The parent of any child and the guardian of any ward shall notauthorize or knowingly permit a ward to violate any provision of thischapter.

(c) The regulation applicable to bicycles shall apply wherever a bicycleis operated upon any highway or upon any path set aside for the exclusiveuse of bicycles subject to those exceptions stated therein.

(5) PENALTIES. Every person conviced of a violation of any provision of thissection shall forfeit $10.00 to $200.00.
