• Started in 1917

• First Ambassadorial Scholar in 1947

– More than 40,000 scholars (700 in 2009-10 in 80 different countries)

• First Matching Grant in 1965

– More than 33,000 grants in 201 countries totalling more than $397 million

• Group Study Exchange began in 1965

• Polio Eradication began in 1985

– More than 2 billion children immunized

– 1,294 cases in 2010

– 78 to date for 2011 (55 to date for 2010)

• World Peace Fellows started in 2002, more than 480 fellows
