Purpose of the National Church Adopt-A-School Initiative
The purpose is comprehensive — to implement a national faith based strategy to address the spiritual and social needs of urban youth and families through a church and public school partnership.

• National High School Dropout Rate = 50%
• Family Deterioration is at the core of issues faces in Public Schools
• 70% of African American children are born to Single Parent households
• 94% of Men in prisons are from the homes without male influence

The Concept of NCAASI
• Addresses the Spiritual and Social Needs of Urban youth and their families
• Promotes a church – school partnership based upon a National Faith strategy
• Builds capacity of churches and faith based organizations
• Seeks to offer a hand up, not a handout through providing long term solutions that will change the very way people think.

The Plan for the Church Adopt-A-School Program
An urban church would adopt a local school(s). A suburban church would partner with that urban church to provide a variety of supplemental support systems as needed to strengthen the urban church’s ability to deliver effective social services.

Public School Outreach serves as the primary Ministry to deliver all services and address
the critical needs of youth and families
• The Mentoring Program is a comprehensive – school based model based on a 4:1 ratio.
• Tutoring is in core academic subjects plus TAKS.
• Promoting healthy school and home environments that seek to maximize students success.
