    2. Deforestation the cutting down and clearing of trees and forests.

  • 3. Why?- Groups are cutting down the rainforest for economic reasons.

    4. Effects - H- Brazils GDP has increased - They have a trade surplus they are exporting goods from the rainforest.

  • Rainforest ProjectYou will be assigned to a group and provided with introductory research.

    Your group must create a presentation that will be given to a panel including me and student judges.

    The panel will decide the answer to the key question: Will Brazil conserve or economically develop the rainforest?

  • Product RequirementsEach product must have:

    1. Slide 1: Title your groups profession and students names

    2. Slide 2: Key Question Does your group want to preserve the rainforest (save it) or economically develop the rainforest (cut it down)?

    3. Slides 3-5: Reasons- At least 3 reasons that support your position (the more the better)- Explanation for each reason- Pictures include a picture on each slide to show your groups position

    Judges get to: 1) Work with the El Presidente during the presentations2) Dont have to present and get a free 100 on that portion of the project3) Get special political power for the rest of the week

    To be a judge: 1) Follow group procedures2) Help other students in your group
