PEER MENTORING HAS STARTED Peer Mentor sessions are designed my
students for students. Peer Mentors create subject area Power Point presentations designed to review subject content and have fun. Each Peer Mentor Session will have an Advisor present to supervise and assist.
Sessions take place Monday – Friday 4:30-5, and they re already in your daily/weekly plan

GCA. Get to know other students with similar
goals and aspirations! Guest speakers will go over everything you
need to know to excel in these classes, and explain how these classes can help with
college admissions. Post-secondary info, as well as enrichment,
Dual Enrollment and study abroad opportunities will also be discussed!

Option #1: Please find below an announcement from ED/IFLE on a Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program opportunity for a four week seminar to China in summer 2013.The application deadline is December 10.http://www2.ed.gov/programs/iegpssap/elsecseminars.html Option #2:The Department of State is currently recruiting for several study abroad scholarship programs for U.S. citizen high school students.The U.S. Department of State announces scholarships for American high school students to study abroad:The National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) offers merit-based scholarships to U. S. high-school aged students for overseas study of seven critical foreign languages: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi, Korean, Persian (Tajik), Russian and Turkish. The NSLI-Y program is designed to immerse participants in the cultural life of the host country, giving them invaluable formal and informal language practice and sparking a lifetime interest in foreign languages and cultures. Applications for summer 2013 and academic year 2013-2014 programs are due November 1, 2012.
