Welcome to our 2021 Rancher’s Bull Sale

Welcome to our 11th annual production sale. It’s been a roller coaster ride this year with plenty of ups and downs, but life and work go on. The cattle have done well, we had a really good crop and harvest also went well.

We look forward to presenting our cattle to you on February 16, 2021 at the sale barn. We will have videos out on the DLMS website and encourage you to look at the animals moving. We try but can’t always get as good a presentation in a picture as we would like.

Behind each of these sale animals is a long pedigree of successful breeders - especially females. Genetics can surprise anyone, but we try to make them as consistent as possible.

We are happy with the progress we feel we’re making with the cattle. We are enjoying meeting new people and expanding our market as well as supplying cattle to meet the needs of our existing faithful customers. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your cattle program, to try to supply the bulls and/or heifers you need. We believe these cattle can improve any herd in some fashion. Give us a try!

We are offering 8 purebred bred heifers this year. Come and check out all the sale animals.

Lunch starts at 11:30 am and the sale begins at 1:00 pm MST. Come early to view the cattle. You can also register to bid online through DLMS.

General InformationDate & Time: The sale will begin at 1:00 pm MST on Tuesday, February 16, 2021

Location: The sale will be held at the Holloway Sale Barn located at 13215 Secondary Highway 599 east of Castor, AB.

Site Unseen Program: If you can’t make it to the sale, please let us know and we will go over the sale cattle together. If you wish to bid, we will have a representative do so on your behalf within your price range or you may view the sale through DLMS and bid through DLMS or by phone.Sale Day phones: 403-740-0380 | 403-331-0611

Health: Cattle will be sold in compliance with the health laws of the Province of Alberta. This is a tuberculosis and brucellosis free area. Females are all vaccinated for IBR. All sale cattle have been treated with Ivomec. All bulls have been vaccinated for foot rot and semen tested. Horned sale animals are dehorned with paste at birth. There are also a good number of polled animals in our herd.

Terms: Terms of sale are full cash payment sale day, unless prior arrangements have been made with Les. Animals are the buyer’s responsibility as soon as sold. We are continuing the warranty program started by request last year. We will, for a 10% fee, work with you to replace a bull, loan a bull, or refund the purchase price of any bull not performing satisfactorily during the first breeding season. We are asking that any animal being left at the farm for any length of time be on this program. We will continue to work with you on flexible delivery times. There may be a nominal fee for boarding.

We are happy to have added this big polled herd sire to our bull battery from Bar RZ. We’re looking forward to having his progeny in our herd and our sale.

WLN 143F is our top performance bull in his crop and after losing his sire we decided to use him in our bull battery of purebred sires. He has a docile temperament with enough frame and depth of rib and hip that we think he will be a great replacement for 38B, his sire. His mother always has progeny at the top of the crop. We’re looking forward to bringing sons and daughters of 143F to our sale.
