ST. MARY OF THE ANNUNCIATION BRISTOL, INDIANA
FROM OUR PASTOR ANNOUNCEMENTS
“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and Glory in the Highest.” We hear the words of the people in Luke’s Gospel as they welcome their King. This Sunday, we celebrate Palm Sunday and we recall Jesus’ joyful entry into Jerusalem. Christ hears the crowds shout with joy, yet only a few days later they will cry out “Crucify Him, Crucify Him!” Let us take some time this week and sit with the Bible and read the account of the Passion of Jesus in one of the Gospel’s. Hold a crucifix and gaze upon the body of our Lord and see what He did for you and me. Monday evening the priests of the diocese will gather at St. Matthew’s Cathedral with Bishop Rhoades to renew our vows of priestly service, plus the Bishop will bless the three oils we will use for the sacraments throughout the year. Wednesday evening I will gather with Catechumens and Candidates to practice for the Easter Vigil. I ask you to continue to keep them in your prayers as they make their final journey. Holy Thursday everyone is invited to gather for the Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7PM. Then on Good Friday, we gather at 9AM for Morning Prayer and the Good Friday service will begin at 12:30PM. Stations of the Cross will be held at 7PM. Then on Holy Saturday, Morning Prayer will be at 9AM. The Easter Vigil will begin at 9PM. Easter Sunday Masses are at the regular times. I do invite you to come and participate as much as your schedule allows. Holy Week is a beautiful preparation to celebration the Resurrection.
Hope you have a Blessed Holy Week. —Father Bob
