HAPPY SPRING! Oh the sounds of birds chirping, the flowers beginning to bloom, the weather becoming warmer…what a wonderful feeling (especially since that snow storm on March 14th). Spring has sprung and it makes you feel alive!
The cold winter has passed and now comes Spring. The newly hatched baby birds will cause the mother birds to sing.
The warm sun comes out; little cherry blossoms are in bloom. Beautiful roses will open up and smell of sweet perfume.
The winds soft breeze passes through the tall trees. There will be plenty of work for the busy honey bees.
From flower to flower, they fly and buzz all day. Spring is that magical time during April and May.
Wishing all of you a Happy Easter & Passover!
5 “NEW” members have joined us! A warm welcome to: Dorothy Cancro,

Tired of receiving those numerous
and annoying telemarketing calls? Here is some very helpful information: When you receive a call and it seems no one is on the other end, this is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls and records the time of day when you answer the phone. This technique is used to determine the best time of day for a ‘real’ sales person to call back and get someone at home. What you can do: If you notice there is no one on the other end of the line, immediately starting hitting the # button on your phone 6 or 7 times as quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialed the call, and kicks your number out of their system.
“FREE” Tuesday Movies – 1:00 PM
APRIL 2017 (refreshments provided)
April 4 - AFTER WORDS – 2015 Starring Marcia Gay Harden & Oscar Jaenada

Together, they embark on an adventure into the heart of Costa Rica.
April 11 - BEYOND THE SEA – 2004 Starring Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth &
John Goodman Rated: PG-13 1 hr. 58 min. For Bobby Darin, performing was his life. Rheumatic fever has permanently damaged his heart, and he's not expected to make it to age fifteen. April 25 - THE BIRDCAGE – 1996 Starring Robin Williams, Gene Hackman &
Nathan Lane Rated: R 1 hr. 57 min.

Albert, stars there as Starina. “Their” son Val (actually Armand's by his one heterosexual fling,
twenty years before) comes home to announce his engagement to Barbara Keeley, daughter
of Kevin Keeley, US Senator, and co-founder of the Committee for Moral Order. The Senator
and family descend upon South Beach to meet Val, his father and “mother.” What ensues is
comic chaos.

We had a ‘grand’ time at our St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon. Thank you for all who were still able to come due to the original date being changed because of the snow storm! Mother Nature…you never know what she is capable of.
DID YOU KNOW?...That our Crochet Club are
just ‘stitches’ away from having made 3,000 blankets, hats, scarves, and prayer shawls? And all distributed to those in need. What an amazing accomplishment! If you like to crochet or would like to learn how, you are always welcome every
Monday at 9:00 AM. The club is very inviting, informative and encouraging. All yarn is provided. We do also accept donations of yarn – preferable RedHeart, no wool please.
A Word of Thanks… I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our DPW department. Any time I have asked for their assistance whether it be repairing doors, moving furniture, setting up computers, etc., they always attend to the needs of the Center in a timely manner; all while taking care of our town whether it be leaf season or snow removal. They are all to be commended for doing an outstanding job! On behalf of myself and the members of the Senior Center, thank you for all you do – it is very much appreciated! (Pam)

LUNCH ORDERING POLICY Effective April 2017
I realize how many times the lunch ordering policy has been changed. However, the reason being is that when a change is made, it doesn’t seem to be adhered to; causing changes to be made again. PLACING LUNCH ORDERS IN PERSON When you are placing your lunch order, payment must be accompanied at the time of your order. We cannot place your lunch order without payment. There have been instances where the order was not picked up, no payment was received, or last minute, no longer wanted the lunch; and yet, we are responsible for paying our vendor. 24-HOUR ADVANCE ORDERING OVER THE PHONE In order to continue accepting the 24-hour in advance notice of your lunch order, YOUR PAYMENT IS TO BE RECEIVED THE NEXT DAY BY 11:00 AM OR UNFORTUNATELY; YOUR LUNCH ORDER WILL NOT BE PLACED. PICKING UP TAKE-OUT ORDERS Any take-out lunch order(s) MUST BE PICKED UP THE DAY OF LUNCH BEFORE 3:00 PM or it will have to be discarded. We are responsible for paying for our lunch program and all monies are to be received in order to continue offering a lunch program. At the end of each day, we must reconcile all orders and all money is to be submitted into our account. Moving forward, I do hope that this new policy will be effective.
As always, I appreciate your continued support and cooperation!
