bull PAN-IIT-2014 International Conference is a conference taking place in Toronto Ontario on June 6-8 2014 The conference hosted by the Indian Institutes of Technology Alumni of Canada (ITAC) is expected to be attended by over one thousand business professionals technocrats innovators entrepreneurs educators and leaders in government from Canada USA India and other countries
bull The Economic Development Office would like to participate in this global event by being a gold sponsor for the conference The gold sponsorship provides an opportunity to expand on our international foreign direct investment program building on our business missions to India It also provides an opportunity for the Mayor of Brampton to speak with Mayor Scarpitti from Markham

The Indian Institutes of Technology Alumni Canada (ITT-AC) was established in 1951 The number of campuses in India has grown to sixteen Over the years NT has become synonymous with excellence in technology and engineering education and has gone beyond traditional engineering and started to focusing on nano technology management and medicine NT is a major brand that India has been successful in establishing through over 200000 Alumni globally of professionals and successful business leaders Twenty per cent of Silicon Valley startups have been done by Alumni of IIT
The conference in Toronto will be attended by over a thousand business professionals technocrats innovators entrepreneurs and government officials from Canada USA India and other countries anchored by reputed keynote speakers and distinguished panelists from industry government and academia The conference will have a North American focus especially in the context of Canada-USA-India economic collaboration and opportunities in the globally connected world The theme is Innovate Integrate Transform Let us co-create the future through technology education and trade Industry and many levels of Government are participating and sponsoring the event including City of Markham (Mayor Scarpitti will speak at the event and are a Platinum Sponsor) City of Toronto Invest Ottawa (potential) Ontario Government (Potential)
The information for the PAN-IIT-2014 International Conference was received on April 14 2014 After further research into the conference it was felt that this would be advantageous to attend The conference sponsorship was not included in the 2014 events list therefore needs to be approved by council before attending With the conference being held June 6-8 2014 the need to secure approval to sponsor and attend the conference is required immediately in order to secure the gold sponsorship and speaking opportunity
The gold sponsorship of $15000 includes a speaker opportunity at the conference 1 pass for the VIP reception a table of 8 for the Gala Dinner 2 complimentary passes for the conference display of banners at conference and IIT-AC events one page advertisement in the conference souvenir and year round publicity at all IITAC events and website

Current Situation
The City of Brampton has participated in three trade missions to India in the past two years two of them in partnership with Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce IT was a very big component of the trade missions Many leads and prospects were generated in this sector Global IT giants like IGate InfoSys were visited important to note here is those companies were founded by PAN-IIT Alumni Being part of that circle is critical to any success in the sector Participation and networking in this prestigious conference with opportunity of speaking after the opening remarks of the Governor General of Canada will help open doors for the City of Brampton in the global IT world
