    Have a helper hold the Upri hts (5)verticall , and hold them stead untilthe Spreader (2) and Base Supports(1) are secured in place.

    1. Slide each Base Support (1) under the Upri hts (5), and place theSpreader (2) between them, asshown above. Line up the bolt holesand insert the Bolts (13) throu hthe Spreader, Base Supports and

    Upri hts, then secure in place withthe Nuts (12).

    Determine where ou want to use2.the Press. Check to ensure that theUpri hts are perpendicular to theBase Supports, then bolt to the oor (See Mountin to the Floor - pa e 7).

    3. Ali n the holes on the Jack RinHeader (10) with the holes in thetop of the Upri hts (5) and secure inplace with the Bolts (15) and Nuts(16). Check that the assembl issquare then nish tightening bolts.

    4. Slide the Support Pins (11) into the

    holes in the Upri hts (5).n : For set-up, position the Support

    Pins at least several holes down fromthe top holes in the Upri hts so ouhave room to place the Jack Plate(6). You can re-adjust the placementof the Press Apron after assembl .

    5. Insert the E e Bolts (7) into the holesin the Jack Plate (6) and secure inplace with the Nuts (14).

    7. Bleed the Bottle Jack (see Bleedinthe Bottle Jack below) and makesure it is full collapsed. Han theSprin s (8) on the bars of the JackRin Header (10). Place the BottleJack (9) on the center of the JackPlate (6). Slide the Jack Plate up theJack Rin Header (10) so the BottleJack Saddle ts in the bracket (center underside of top of Header). Hook theSprin s (8) into the E e Bolts (7) tosecure the Bottle Jack/Jack Plate inplace.

    m F To mount the Shop Press, with1.assistance, move the unit to thelocation where it is to be used. If needed, drill four 1/2 diameter mountin holes in the feet and use asa template to mark the spots wherefour 1/2 diameter holes will be drilledin the concrete or wood oor. Checkfor an hidden wirin or cables and

    adjust the location for the holes asneeded. Then, temporaril set theShop Press aside.

    Use a masonr drill bit to drill the2.four 1/2 diameter holes (about 3-4deep) into the concrete. Make sure to

    blow out the concrete dust from thedrilled holes.

    Set the Shop Press back to the3.location where it is to be used, andali n the four 1/2 diameter mountinholes in its feet with the four pre-drilled 1/2 holes in the concrete or wood. Then use four minimum 3lon , 1/2 diameter, concrete anchor bolts or la bolts (not included)to secure the Shop Press to theconcrete or wood oor.

    important! Before rst use, checkfor proper h draulic oil level in theJack. Then thorou hl test the Jackfor proper operation prior to its actualuse. If the Jack appears not to be

    workin properl , it ma be necessarto bleed its h draulic s stem of e cess air. To bleed the Bottle Jack:

    Remove the Oil Filler Plu . Insert1.the slot on the lower portionof the Handle over the ValveRelease Screw. Turn the Handle

    counterclockwise to close the ValveRelease Screw.

    Insert the Handle into the Plun er/2.Fulcrum Assembl . Appl pressureto the Saddle, and pump the Handle

    uickl several times.

    Check the Oil Fill Hole and, if 3.necessar , top off the Oil Fill Holewith h draulic oil.

    Replace the Oil Filler Plu .4.

    Test the Jack several times before5.puttin into use. If, after pur in ,the Jack still does not appear to be

    workin properl , do not use theJack until it has been repaired b aquali ed service technician.

    The Shop Press can be used for a variet of functions includinelectric motor and armaturerepair, installation and removal of pressure tted parts such as gears

    and bearin s, and bendin or strai htenin of metal. Care shouldbe taken in set up and operation of the Shop Press to avoid dama e or injury.

    To operate the Shop Press:

    Use the Support Pins (11) to adjust1.the hei ht of the Press Apron (3).

    n : The Press Apron should be in thehi hest position possible with theworkpiece as close as possible to theram of the Jack Plate (6).

    Place the item to press between the2.Arbor Plates (4).

    Warning: Make sure there is noobstruction (such as a stra bolt or debris) under the Arbor Plates. Suchitems create an uneven surfacewhich can cause the Arbor Plates to

    break under pressure.Warning: When pressin two items

    to ether, the items must be linedup verticall . If not, one item maforcefully eject itself sideways fromthe unit.

    Using the Jack Handle (17), jack3.down the Jack Plate until the ramof the Jack Plate contacts our workpiece. Make sure if ou arepressin two items to ether, that theare in vertical ali nment. Continue tooperate the Handle to press the workpiece.

    When the task is completed, be4.careful when releasin Jack pressure.For safet , remove the Handle, thenuse the Handle to slowl turn theValve Release Screw on the Jack,allowin the Jack Plate to rise.

    Warning: After pressin , durin therelease process the Jack ma rise

    With the Jack full lowered, unhooka.the Sprin s from the E e Bolts andremove the Jack from the ShopPress.

    Remove the Oil Filler Plu .b.

    Tip the Bottle Jack to allow the oldc.h draulic oil to drain out of the unit

    completel , and dispose of the oldh draulic oil in accordance with localre ulations.

    Completely ll the unit with a highd.ualit h draulic oil (not included)

    until the oil just begins to run out of the Oil Fill Hole.

    Reinstall the Oil Filler Plu .e.

    Clean with a clean cloth usin af.deter ent or mild solvent.

    Replace the Bottle Jack onto the.Shop Press (See step 7 under Assembl ).
