SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

Our First Reading Today 1Kings 19:4-8

† What is “Elijah’s desert” in my own life?

† For what journey is God giving you nourishment?

† How does my partaking of the bread of life strengthen me for my

life’s journey?

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Assumption is a principal feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary – one of the most important feasts of the Church year. For hundreds of years, Catholics observed the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15th – celebrating Mary’s being taken bodily to Heaven after her death – but it was not until 1950 that the Church proclaimed this teaching a dogma of the Church (one of the essential beliefs of the Catholic faith).

ATTENTION PARISHIONERS! In order to meet the needs of our parishioners, we now have special altar bread, a.k.a. Communion Hosts, for those who have a medical condition which requires low gluten/gluten free products. If this is applicable to you, and you wish to receive Holy Communion, please see Deacon Richard before Mass so a host can be consecrated for you.

Taking a Vacation???

Have a delightful time, but don’t forget about

attending Mass. Visit www.masstimes.org

to find a church and Mass times in your vacation area.

THINKING ABOUT SEPARATION OR DIVORCE? YOU CAN HELP YOUR MARRIAGE

Do you feel alone? Are you frustrated or angry with each other? Do you argue … or have you just stopped talking to each other? Does talking about it only make it worse? It helps spouses uncover or re-awaken the love, trust and commitment that originally brought them together. The program is highly successful in not only saving hurting marriages, but also in bringing reconciliation to couples who have already separated or even divorced.
