Thank you for your interest in SEALNet. SEALNet works throughout Southeast Asia to promotethe spirit of service leadership and to contribute to the development of future Southeast Asianleaders. The following application is for university students who would like to participate in ourtwo-week long summer service leadership projects. If you are a local high school student interested injoining our projects, please check the project-specific pages on our website for updates on the

selection process.

Attached you will find a paper copy of our application to be a member of one of our summerprojects. Please feel free to print out the application, write on it, or fold it into a paper airplane, butremember that your application must be submitted to us online by11:59 PM PST March 24,2013 at http://www.sealnetonline.org/apply/project-application/. On the following pages, you willfind general guidelines on the application process as well as the application questions themselves.

You may apply for a maximum of two projects and you will be asked to rank those projects either asyour first or second choice. Any duplicate submissions in an attempt to apply to more than two

projects will negatively affect your application.

SEALNet Project Application 2013 Guidelines

Application deadline is 11:59 PM PST March 24, 2013 .

Familiarize yourself with the project descriptions at http://www.sealnetonline.org/current-projects/

Please note that different projects have different start and end dates. Please make sure that you canattend the projects in their entirety before applying.

All applicants must answer two short common application questions. Applicants also need torespond to the two project-specific questions for the projects they are applying for.

Unfortunately, there is no way to save your answers online and edit them at a later time. Wesuggest that you compose your answers in a text document first and then paste them into theapplication online.

Starred fields are mandatory please completely fill out those items.

The 4 projects available this year are: Cambodia (Aug 11 Aug 25), Phnom Penh The Philippines Cebu (June 23 July 11), Cebu The Philippines Leyte (Aug 8 Aug 22), Leyte Vietnam (Aug 3 Aug 18), Ho Chi Minh City

Participation in SEALNet projects this year will require a $500 fundraising commitment from eachproject member. This commitment will ensure that participants are fully engaged in the projects.

Project Cambodia

Project Philippines Cebu

1. Many of the students we will be working with in the Philippines attend schools that adhereto Catholic values and teachings. How do you feel about this and how would you go aboutnavigating this system while respectfully implementing change through our project?

2. Tell us about an idea, dream, or goal you currently have that is some way related to ProjectPhilippines 2013. How would you go about accomplishing it? What steps would you take tobring yourself closer to achieving it? Be creative!

Project Philippines Leyte

1. Here's a challenge to think on your feet now -- assume you are supposed to give a teamworkshop on a science and engineering topic for the project. Unfortunately, you lost your

bag containing all the materials which were very essential to your topic of choice, and havetwenty minutes to come up with a new activity with your team to teach the group of highschool students. Explain how you will go about solving this problem.

2. There are many projects in SEALNet. Please tell us about why you want to join ProjectPhilippines - Leyte. If you had to convince a friend to join a community service project inthe Philippines incorporating science and engineering in its core vision, what would you tellthem?

Project Vietnam

1. Share with us an activity that could be implemented during our project that would includethe participation of both SEALNet team members and people with disabilities.
