Messengers of God’s Mercy
I f we consider that God is the Divine Bridegroom and the Church is his Bride, then the prophets can be seen as “spiritual marriage counselors.” They afflict the comfortable and comfort the
afflicted, calling us to return to our covenant relationship with God. They urge us to repentance, warn us of the dangers of sin, and announce the blessings of faithfulness. Their prophetic words speak to us even today, as they draw us closer to our heavenly Bridegroom. In Prophets: Messengers of God’s Mercy, a ten-part Bible study, you will come to know how the prophets and their messages shed light on our faith and our lives. Participants will meet every week to discuss the study materials and weekly videos completed and watched at home. Quizás demos la llave de nuestra casa a un amigo de confianza para que la cuide en nuestra ausencia. Quizás damos las llaves a alguien responsable del mantenimiento u obras de un edificio en particular. Las llaves de vehículos se dan a personas que demuestran ser
conductores responsables. Las lecturas de hoy se enfocan en este tipo de confianza, la confianza que confiere autoridad y responsabilidad. En la Primera
Lectura, el símbolo específico es una llave, pero en la Segunda Lectura y en el Evangelio se habla de
