METHOD STATEMENT FOR CASTING CONCRETE FOR LEVEL 5 SLAB

GRIDLINES 1D-6D / A-K

I. GENERAL INFORMATION OF GROUND SLAB

-The Ground slab at gridline 1D-6D / A-K is 1210 (m2) in square meter, the calculated quantity of concrete is approximately 248 m3. The concrete is B30 and B40 (for columns) which the slumps are 14+2cm.

-HOLCIM ( the supplier is proposed and their sample test results have met the standard) is chosen to supply the concrete for this batch.

II. RESOURCES

1. Equipment:

Pumps : 02 ( 01 stand by)

Concrete trucks : 30

Vibrators : 02pcs, 02 for reservation

Leveler: 02 pcs.

2. Labors:

Pump operation team: 10 persons

Pouring concrete and surface making team:15 persons.

Formwork and rebar worker: 4 persons

MEP worker: 4 persons.

III. METHOD STATEMENT.

1. Installation concrete pipes

-Concrete pipes will be installed from concrete pump machines to ground slab. The pipes

will be set up as convenient as possible to meet the requirement.

2. Casting concrete

1. Casting concrete B40 for Wall / Column.

- At first, workers will cast the concrete B40 for Wall and Column by using

Tower crane / Pumps.

- Casting B40 for Wall and Column should be followed immediately by B30

concrete to make sure the connection between two kinds of concrete.

2. Casting concrete B30 for slab.

-Specific team operates the pumps and displace pipes during casting concrete.

- Sika latex will be applied to ensure connection between the new concrete and existing

surface concrete.

-Casting concrete follows to the designed direction which was shown in attached

drawing..

-Using leveler to check and mark concrete surface finish level. Using ruler 3m length to

level concrete base on the cell marked (refer to attached drawing). Workers will grade

concrete to adjust the level.

-Arrange group of four workers in charge of finishing concrete surface. They start to

polish concrete surface by steel float or power float dependent on specification of

architect floor finish requirement.

- Incase it is raining heavily during the pouring period , stop and use plastic sheet to

cover the constructed area. The pouring work can be continued after the rain stop.

-Water curing start after casting about 8 hours and keep curing 3 days after casting.

3. Unexpected problems and solution

a, It is raining when pouring concrete

- Incase it is raining heavily during the pouring period , stop and use plastic sheet to

cover the constructed area . The pouring work can be continued after the rain stops.

b, Breaking down of concrete or pumps

-Holcim supplier is chosen for the batch.

-With 2 pumps (1 standby), it can be continued if one is broken. On the other hand ,the

pump supplier has their equipment distributed around the project and can be employed

to the site soon if required.
