New Mobile Phone Policy At the School Council meeting this week, the new Mobile Phones policy was approved. This policy aligns with the departments new mobile phones policy for student use and the recent ministerial order. From Term 1 2020, all schools are required to provide secure storage for student mobile phones that are brought to school. The biggest change in policy for Bonbeach is that students who bring their mobile phone to school, are required to drop their phone off at the office upon arrival in the morning. We have a system in place to store phones and identify who they belong to. These will then be locked away at the office for the day. Students will be able to collect their phone at the end of the day. This policy will be in effect from next week to enable students to get used to the new routine. We encourage families to read the Mobile Phone- Student use policy on our website as well as the Personal Property policy. Please note, that this policy also includes wearable devices such as smart watches that have internet and calling capabilities. FarmersMarket Thank you to all of the families who braved the cold and the wind to come along to the Farmers ’’ Market last weekend. We had 35 stalls this month and 650 visitors through the gates. Thank you to all of the families who gave up their time to help on the day: Jon C, Cameron S, Laureen L, Paul K, David B, Brett S, Stuart L, Kenny W, Kelvin and Kaishu Y, Alistair S, Bridget S, Liliya S and family, Phil S, Kellie S, Ana B, Kate G, Kelly E, Anita P, Mayumi W, Hui L and Claire M. What is happening in Maths at Bonbeach PS

Our year level of the week is Year Prep: This week the Preps have been investigating the concept of sharing. We integrated our topic of being sustainable by going out into the Asian Garden and looking at how plants grow. Gus and Grace showed us where they planted corn seeds with Jade and Amy. Gus was very proud to tell us that there was an equal amount of seeds in each row. This information became very important in our challenge:

Challenge: You have 16 seeds, share them equally. Look at all the ways we shared our seeds
