Council waive the facility hire bond of $550 for the use of the Gulgong Memorial Hall for the Gulgong Chinese Gold Festival Bush Dance on Friday 2 October 2015; and 4. Council decline the application for cash support for the Gulgong Chinese Gold Festival. 163 There are also concerns about the establishment of a new event with such little lead time.

Financial and Operational Plan implications

Funding of $50,000 is provided in the Operational Plan for Events Assistance. Should Council approve this request for events assistance, the remaining balance will be $22,355.63. Applications for events falling between January 2016 and June 2016 opened on 1 September. It is expected that the remaining funds will be allocated in this funding round.

Community Plan implications

The Events Assistance Program links to the Community Plan: Strategy 3.2.1. Promote the Region as a great place to live, work, invest and visit.
