Have full fare ready before boarding the bus
Please allow the operator to perform job duties — do NOT interfere with the operator while the bus is in motion
Treat passengers with respect and kindness
Do NOT abuse, threaten, or use vulgar language while on CATS property
Clean up after yourself
Do NOT eat or drink while on board a bus
Allow disabled, elderly and wheelchair-bound passengers to sit in the front
Do NOT carry weapons, firearms, flammable materials, explosives or corrosive liquids on board
Listen to music or media devices only with headphones or earphones
Keep cell phone conversations to a minimum
All items brought onto the bus must be stowed under your seat or in your lap
Clothes and shoes must be worn while on CATS property
Personal hygiene must be maintained
Violation of any of these rules may result in arrest, fine, or refusal of service and/or permanent loss of service from the system.
RULES TO REMEMBER WHEN RIDING CATS
Capital Area Transit System (CATS) is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participating in or denied the benefits of its services on the basis of race, color, or national origin, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, asended. Title VI complaints must be filed within 180 days from the date of the alleged discrimination.
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) REQUIREMENTS:All CATS buses meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, offering wheelchair lifts and other features to accommodate riders with disabilities.
BUS TRANSFERS: Bus Transfers are valid for two hours only. After the two hour window, full fare is required to ride the bus. A transfer cannot be used for the same line.

Below is a breakdown of CATS current fares for all routes, except the 16 Capitol Park Shuttle, which is free for all riders. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

31-Day Pass (Unlimited rides for 31 Days): $56.00
7-Day Pass (Unlimited rides for 7 Days): $19.00
15-Ride Pass (15 Single Rides only): $24.50
15- Senior / Disabled Ride (15 Single Rides only): $5.25
All-Day Week Passes* (Mon - Fri) $4.00
All-Day Weekend Passes* (Sat & Sun) $2.00
Adults*: $1.75
Children younger than 5: Free with paying adult.
Children 5 to 12: (Must be accompanied by an adult) $1.75
Students with valid Student ID Card*: (School Request for bulk Student ID Cards
can be submitted to [email protected])$0.35
Senior citizens* (ages 62 and older) and people with disabilities who show a CATS ID card: $0.35
MEDICARE DISCOUNT
Medicare cardholders can ride CATS buses (fixed route) for $0.35. Medicare card holders may present their Medicare card with a valid state issued identification, or apply with CATS to receive a CATS ID card. Customers with disability are eligible for the disabled fare card; Customers are to have a current award letter from Social Security. Cards that are stolen, lost,
or damaged; replacement cost will be $10.00.
