bitterness. They do not heal our grieving hearts but harden them. We pray also for those charged with protecting our streets and our communities, that they may be protected from harm. Let us remember that these men and women who put themselves at risk for our safety are mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, and are themselves not the cause of the anger that seizes our communities. We pray for those whose lives have been disrupted by rioting, whose livelihoods have been destroyed, and whose contributions to communities have been erased. Destroying the livelihood of a family does nothing to honor Mr. Floyd and pushes peace farther from our grasp. We pray that the cycle that creates ever more victims will stop. We pray for our state and nation, already reeling from the pandemic and economic disaster and now confronting violence and turmoil. We ask God Our Father, during this month of June in which we honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to send His peace to comfort the afflicted and to protect the innocent. May the pierced and wounded heart of Jesus bring His love into our hearts. Only when we share God’s love with one another, when we see Him in the person of our brothers and sisters, will we know lasting peace and an end to the sin of injustice, bitterness and violence. In the midst of this civil unrest, let us keep in mind the words of Rev. Martin Luther King: “Without Justice, there can be no peace” - and in the words of Pope St. John Paul II: “There is no peace without justice, and no justice without forgiveness.” Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. Grace and Mercy, Bishop Cotta ADORATION NEEDS YOU! “Come to Jesus—Divine Light, Divine Love” The following hours are available for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Sunday: 10:00AM, 11:00AM, 12:00PM, 2:00PM, 3:00PM; Tuesday: 6:00PM, and Thursday: 6:00PM.

June 14, 2020 Corpus Christi Sunday

BISHOP’S MINISTRY APPEAL—BMA Thank you parishioners for helping us reach over our goal of $47,754.00. Thank you and God bless all of you. WELCOME BACK! My dear loving friends of St. Patrick’s Church, Deacon Tom, Deacon Juan and I are filled with great joy to write a few lines at this time of your return to the Church. We have great news that we can come to participate in the Holy Eucharist and receive the Body of Christ on the Feast of “Corpus Christi” which is a perfect day to come back together. We can’t wait to see you at Church. We missed you all like crazy……. we truly are excited and eagerly waiting to celebrate the mass for you and see all your loving and smiling faces. Yes, it has been very tough and challenging time for each one of us, but, thank God finally we are able to open the church doors and welcome you with open arms to participate in the Holy Mass. So, when you come for mass, it’s going to be a bit different. We have some instructions to be followed and precautions to be taken for our safety and good health. Some of the things you may have noticed like, ….not being able to attend the mass you prefer due to the limited number of faithful in participation (100 persons), wearing masks, hand sanitizing, maintaining social distance at least 6 feet, pews closed off, floors marked, no holy water, no exchange of peace, no singing, no procession from entrance, no altar servers….etc. We hope and pray that you all lovingly accept them and carefully put them into practice with a heart full of patience, understanding and co-operation. Thank you for all the love you expressed through this Pandemic. After almost three months, your letters, phone calls, emails and prayers, are greatly appreciated. Our experience, you have been so great and we can loudly with force say that we have a great community of love and faith. We are also so grateful for the generous contributions you have made to the Church. It’s a clear indication of your deep faith in God and your tremendous love for St. Patrick’s Church. Wow, you are all amazingly faithful. We need to thank everyone involved in making it possible to open the church doors, especially our parish staff, Church opening committee and all the volunteers who have come forward to help sanitize and keep the church clean. Again a special and a big thanks to Nick and Kim Caton who did an awesome job daily in live streaming the masses for almost three months. That’s a lot of work, their total commitment, great dedication, strong faith and love for our St. Patrick’s community is greatly appreciated and highly admired. A big round of applause for them! May God bless them and their family for their help. Finally, thank you all dear brothers and sisters, we assure you of our prayers for you and your families that God continue to protect you and keep you and your families safe and healthy. With many blessings, Fr. Raju, Deacon Tom, Deacon Juan BISHOP’S REFLECTION “A Call to Peace & Prayer” As Bishop of Stockton, I call on the people of our diocese to pray for our communities and our nation in this painful, turbulent time. Prayer is needed now as urgently as it has been at any point in our lifetimes. We pray for the repose of the soul of George Floyd, whose senseless killing at the hands of those in positions of trust has triggered justified outrage and anger. Let us pray also for his family, and all those who are grieved by his death. We pray for an end to the racism and injustice that fuels anger and perpetuates cycles of violence. We pray for all victims of violence in our society. Every act of violence dishonors God who bestows life and commands us to cherish it. We pray for all whose lives are not respected or protected as they should be. We pray also for an end to the destructive rioting, looting and violence that does not soothe anger, but intensifies it. These acts of violence and destruction create a cycle of misery and breed resentment, hatred and

Grace and Mercy, Bishop Cotta ADORACION DEL SANTISIMO SACRAMENTO Visita nuestra Capilla de Adoración Eucarística Perpetua.
