There aredefinitely stereotypes attached to beingemo that tie into cutting or suicidaltendencies that I wish were discussed more,but I think a big part of that is thecommonality for so many people in thesubculture who have been at a point wherethey’ve turned to self harm to cope orgotten so bad mentally that they’veconsidered suicide. I think the messagemost bands are trying to send is 'hey, I’vebeen there, it sucks, but don’t do this,' andnot 'hey, I’ve been there, check this out andtry it for yourself.'”
