High Frequency Words (sight words ) : also, does, why, old, small, three Phonics Readers (These books are on our class webpage for you to review with your child.) : “Music, Music, Music” and “An Ant Smells Lunch” Vocabulary : Listening and Speaking: amazingly, dignity, glorious, nature, forgiveness, advice Reading: harness, training, chanted, staring, scrambled, terrific, yellow, think, fault, fair, rectangles, narrow Skill: Completing Sentences Charact er Development : How can we respect each other? Character Development Vocabulary : compassion, shame Character Development Focus/Concept : Even if we fear those who are different from us, we should try to understand them and treat them with kindness. Social Studies: Economics: Goods and Services --What types of businesses are in our community? What goods and services do they produce for the community? Reminders: Homework goes home on Monday and is due on Friday unless you need the weekend to complete it. Spelling, High Frequency Word, and Vocabulary Assessments are at the end of each week. Don is a music pupil. Ron is a music pupil. Von is a music pupil. Don, Ron, and Von like music, music, music. Why does Don like music? Why does Ron like music? Why does Von like music? It is fun, fun, fun! Don has a drum. Ron has a sax. Von has a trumpet. Don, Ron, and Von like music. Why? Music is fun, fun, fun! Don and Ron also like the trumpet. Ron and Von also like the drum. Don and Von also like the sax. Don, Ron, and Von like music, but not all music. Don, Ron, and Von want to be in a band. They each want a fun band, but they do not like the same music. Don, Ron, and Von are sad. “If we are sad, we will not make fun music,” said Don. “I like sax music,” said Ron. “I like trumpet music,” said Von. “And I like drum music,” said Don. “So, we can have drum, sax, and trumpet music!” Don, Ron, and Von are glad. Don, Ron, and Von like music. They will be in a jazz band. It will be fun! They will have fun music in the Don, Ron, and Von Pupil Band.
