BackgroundThe article hails from a newspaper in Salt Lake City called the City Weekly. It is was found online, but also has print circulation in the Salt Lake City area. The article is an editorial news piece about tripling the tax on cigarettes sold in Utah. The article is relatively short and highly opinionated for the opposition of the tax, even though the author doesn’t smoke anymore. He is adamant about the tax not going into action, mostly because he thinks we are pursuing the wrong crowd. He believes we should be going after sugary products and fast food because there are more obese people than cigarette smokers.
